1. I doubt it gets approved
2. I would rather not have our champion play MWC #4

This game(as well as the Cure Bowl) has been trying to get approved for years.

I'd want our champ/#2 play the MWC champ/#2 or AAC champ#1/champ#2/champ#3

lol, no. CUSA #1 or #2 should not play a mid-tier MWC team. The MWC is a very top-heavy conference. The middle of that conference isn't any better than the middle of CUSA.

If we're trying to be the same level as the MWC, then I wouldn't send our Champion there. Maybe something like a CUSA 2 vs MWC 3. But not a 1 vs 4. Im hoping the CUSA champion will be playing in the national playoffs at least every 3 or 4 years.

Not quite as long as the mythical Cure Bowl. When someone mentioned it on the AAC board I thought it was a joke. That rumor has been around forever.

A MWC #4 vs CUSA #1 would be disastrous for CUSA's image.

I agree. Especially if C-USA #1 is a BACK UP to PAC #8, as is suggested in slide 12.

Until they expand to 8 teams or more I can promise you nobody outside of the ACC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12, & SEC sniff a spot.

Once some of those schools get left out or even once the SEC doesnt get 2 schools into the 4 team playoff they will raise hell and it will be enlarged to 8 teams or more and the access will be much easier. Until then its the 1 BCS bowl spot that they opened up for CUSA, MWC, Sun Belt, AAC, and the MAC.

Closest C-USA team is near 1000 miles away, of course you could say that about every conferences' teams but the Pac-12 and MWC.

That's actually putting it nicely to the Mtn.

The MWC has one dominant team (Boise). After that, there is no relevant competitive difference between the other 11 MWC football teams and C-USA.

I'm amazed that Banowsky got the Boca and Bahama's bowl games expedited and done so fast with this bowl (and the Cure Bowl) have been bandied about for so long yet never seem to get traction.

Great job by him.

How about the Hawaii bowl last year. CUSA number 4 SMU absolutely killed MWC number 2 Fresno State. And when I write kill I mean completely blown out as in not competitive:

SMU 43
Fresno State 10

Here are the standings of where both teams finished in conference:

Hawaii is bad enough for the fans. This would be another long travel site near Christmas to a city that holds no interest for me. I hope C-USA does nothing more than line this up for years when we are not playing in Hawaii.

But at least Hawaii supports that bowl. It's like the Sun Bowl. Going to that bowl is a tradition in El Paso. Something tells me an LA Bowl will draw flies.
