AdvoCare dropping Indy Bowl
Saw where AdvoCare was dropping its sponsorship of the I-Bowl after this year. Know they've had financial trouble, wonder what that means for C-USA's secondary bid?

It probably means that some years we might go to Shreveport and play in the Massengale Disposable Douche Bowl

It could be the best exit strategy for the Indy Bowl. ESPN would make sure the bowl game has two warm bodies at the end of the year. However, would Missy Sellers ever agree to such a deal if it meant she'd lose her job or her power?

The I-Bowl couldn't move up the pecking order with the ACC and SEC after 2013. There's no way they can land an SEC team after this year, since they are so far down the pecking order with the conference. After promoting the game as ACC vs. SEC, the locals did not show up when it was Miami (OH) vs. UL-Monroe.

They weren't able to get the hotel/motel tax they wanted, since they were completely unprepared when they went before the Legislature earlier this year. Missy Sellers will try it again next year, but I'm not sure she can get the Legislature to go along with the hotel/motel tax (especially if the casinos and hotels in Shreveport/Bossier oppose it).

The new bowl games that are being proposed in Boca Raton, LA, and the Bahamas will push the I-Bowl in Shreveport further down the list. In their efforts to get crumbs from the ACC and the SEC, the Indy Bowl people failed to work to get quality teams from Conference USA, the MWC, or the AAC. The big fear would be if the ACC and SEC don't have enough teams to send to Shreveport and if the "lesser" conferences create their own bowl games to send their teams to.
