Tony Nixon to Loyola
Good for him as he had to battle more than just "physical issues" (read Ricardo Patton) while at NIU. Class act. Best wishes to him.

He only played in a handful of games, not enough to cause it to be counted as a full season. It's like a medical redshirt. And the fact that he has graduated leaves him eligable to playy that last year immediately.

Huskies will play at Loyola this year, I believe.

I am happy for Tony.......hopefully his being healthy will allow for him to score like he is capable of (except against the Huskies).......The dude was a big time shooter until injuries took their toll, but, in spite of it, he hung in there. Being back home in Chicago should be fun for him.

IDK. Was he not good enough to get one of the scholarships here but can get one at Loyola?

RE: Tony Nixon to Loyola
it must have to do with need--Loyola must need a shooter and for them it is a one and one so they can take a chance....I am guessing NIU had already used Tony's scholarship to get a freshman and for a team in serious rebuilding mode, a talented frosh trumps a 5 year guy who has been limited by injuries...

WOW....that is so impressive. Loyola is an excellent University and the campus/facilities are amazing. Tony is truly blessed to have a scholarship from them and we are grateful. Education is the key to success!!!

That's my hood. I grew up in the shadow of Alumni Hall - now the Gentile Center. It looks like a great place to play. Will Tony be taking classes at the Lakefront, or the Downtown campus? Good luck to him you and your's.

Good for you..."great" facilities. He will be taking his classes at the downtown campus, that's where the Grad school is located. The downtown facilities are beautiful also, 3 blocks from Water Tower and North Michigan Avenue. Loyola has free shuttle buses for the Grad students/Athletes to commute back and forth from the Lake Shore campus to the Downtown campus.
