I'm going to assume that the rotation for C-USA in HoD and AF bowls will include the AAC. 3 years for each conference in each bowl. So they will have their Texas bowl imo.
I was under the impression that army had 2 of the 6 remaining slots for those bowls, MWC would have another 2 the years they vacate LV and Hawaii bowl and that would leave 2 slots open.
In the MWC release a couple of weeks ago they flat out stated that they were out of the AF bowl. That leaves Army and probably the AAC. Have to wait and see I guess.

I don't think the MW will have a direct tie to the Armed Forces Bowl. The way I understand it is that the MW will vacate the Las Vegas Bowl once in the 6 years cycle. Same with the Hawaii Bowl. During that year, they will play in another ESPN bowl--"likely in Texas" per the MW. So it sounds like it's ESPN's option to place them in any ESPN bowl, but there's no actual tie to the HOD or AF. However, the assumption is that they would probably end up in Texas due to geography---buts that's just an assumption.

The MWC's turn(s) in the AFB or HOD Bowls could be as a replacement/fill-in for a Big XII or B1G team. I would guess the B1G & Big XII will place low enough selections that there will be years they are unable to place a team in the DFW area bowls.

RE: Anyone else baffled AAC didn't land bowl in TN, LA, or TX?
I'm still trying to figure out the DFW bowl situation. I know C-USA will send a team to both the HOD and Armed Forces Bowl on a split rotation, and I know the Big 12 and Big 10 are splitting time between the two bowls, but I don't understand who will fill the open spots when C-USA is not playing in one of the bowls. Army is tied to the Armed Forces Bowl 2014 and 2017, and Navy is tied to the bowl in 2016. The 2016 tie could go to the AAC. If these ties are honored, C-USA should get the Armed Forces Bowl in 2015, 2018, & 2019. I have no clue who will play in the Heart of Dallas Bowl against the Big 12 OR Big 10 in those years. Has anyone heard anything?
How I see C-USA's Bowl situation:
Heart of Dallas Bowl vs. Big12/10 (C-USA- 2014,2016, & 2017)
Armed Forces Bowl vs. Big12/10 (C-USA- 2015,2018, & 2019) (Army- 2014 & 2016) (Navy or AAC- 2016)
Beef O'Brady Bowl vs. AAC (C-USA- 4) (ACC-2)
Hawaii Bowl vs. WMC (C-USA- 3 of 6 years)
Boca Bowl vs. ? (C-USA- Annual)
New Mexico Bowl vs. MWC (C-USA- Annual)
Bahamas Bowl vs. MAC (C-USA- Annual)
New Orleans Bowl vs. (C-USA- Annual)
Independence Bowl VS. ACC (C-USA- Alternate)

I have read different reports about the BoB Bowl. I've read where CUSA will be in it 3 years. I've read reports where CUSA will be in 4 years. One thing for sure is that the ACC will only participate two years.

Since the MWC is giving up the NM Bowl and the Hawaii Bowl one game each for this cycle maybe they will fill one of the spots in the BOB Bowl and maybe one of the HOD spots.
Also BYU needs some spots

BYU's independent TV contract is owned by ESPN. I would not be at all surprised to see BYU rotate through some of these ESPN bowls. The BYU AD said a while back that he preferred ONE year contracts with bowls. Nobody does 1 year contracts. However, as I look at this rotational thing that ESPN seems to be implementing in many of their network owned bowls--it almost seems tailor made for BYU. I think your mention of BYU could be dead on.

I totally forgot about that. Thanks, I fixed it.
