Conference USA will play in two new bowl games, in Nassau, Bahamas and Boca Raton, FL.

@McMurphyESPN

C-USA will play in new bowl games in Bahamas & Boca Raton, sources told @ESPN. That's at least 38 bowls in 2014

@McMurphyESPN

New Bahamas Bowl will be in Nassau & will be 1st non-USA postseason bowl since Toronto's International Bowl 2007-10

Random stab in the dark: MAC in one and AAC in the other.

CUSA will have 6 permanent tie-ins then each year, in no particular order:

Heart of Dallas/Armed Forces rotation vs B1G/XII
Beef O'Brady's/Hawaii rotation vs American/MWC
New Mexico vs MWC
Boca vs ??
Bahamas vs ??
New Orleans vs SBC

Not bad. Not bad at all.

At 38 bowls, I think we might just be done. I can't see too many more being added, if any. That is the three new bowls limit I was suggesting. The American's dream of a bowl at Marlins Park, the Christmas Bowl, and the Cure Bowl might just be out of luck.

I hereby declare CUSA football teams the undisputed champion of bowl realignment.

You just about can't come out any better than that if you are a G5 conference. Losing Liberty Bowl sucks, but locations for these games are great.

You can add the Indy Bowl to that list. I figure SEC #9 won't be filled most years.

The MWC has done better so far.

They have 1 tie-in like CUSA to an AQ conference and they aren't playing the SBC in any of their bowl games like CUSA is.

The Poinsettia against BYU/Army is a nice one that CUSA doesn't have.

I suspect that once the AAC is done they'll have 7 tie-ins for 12 teams without playing a game against the SBC. Right now the AAC looks reeling on the bowl front but wait until they play all of their cards.

I don't think playing or not playing the SBC vs other G5 matters much. Apart from the conference champ and maybe one or two others per year, where and when you're playing matters more than whether you're playing a 9-3 New Mexico or an 8-5 UTEP or a 6-6 Ohio or a 7-5 Texas State or an 8-4 SMU. All of those fanbases would tell you why you were lucky to play them, but no one's really listening.

Think of it this way--if the MAC waved a magic wand and switched out the Sun Belt for the AAC in all of their MAC-SBC games, would their bowl lineup suddenly look better? Or would it still read "Hey, it's better than the one bowl we used to have"?

In the G5 is knife fighting while the P5 sit count nuclear warheads the G5 bowl posturing is laughable.
