I'm just saying that a lot of the newbs are like.."I don't know why people don't like Banowsky...this is awesome...blah blah blah".

It's just funny because it is his ineptitude that got them in the conference to begin with, so of course they wouldn't understand.

I don't think a UAB fan should be talking down to anyone about their program in football though.

It was movement at the top that got the new teams into CUSA. It is a food chain thing. As Louisville, WVU, Rutgers, Pitt, Cuse etc were taken from BCS conferences, the others had to fill in. No commish could have stopped the movement.

I don't think any new conference members have room to talk about anything.

Has nothing to do with me being a UAB fan, you'll notice that C-USA is listed first as my fanhood on this site. I used to cover C-USA Athletics as media, so I don't need an explanation from you on what happened with conference realignment. I just think the newbies should know their role. A lot of entitled talk on this forum since the new teams have come on board from "I don't see how people complain about C-USA" to "we're gonna win the conference!!!".

None of you guys have been in the conference long enough (or at all really) to even know the dynamics of how much of a mess the leadership of C-USA is...bowl agreements or not.

Like I said, you cheer for UAB. You have no right to talk down to any program in football.

We are fans. We can know plenty about other conferences. We don't live through our teams and how they do. I'll say whatever the hell I want on here. Not going to have some message board kid tell me when I can talk just because my school happened to enter the conference at a later date than others.

I wasn't even talking specifically about football...just the mindset of a lot of the newcomers in general. Going to be a rude awakening for a lot of teams in a lot of sports, methinks.

With regards to UAB Football, I'm ecstatic to have the newcomers...might be some games we can actually win. 03-lmfao

I still remember when FAU went 1-11 with their only win being UAB.

If and when Tulane becomes bowl eligible I still feel like the NOLA Bowl would come a calling. Not an if but when.

Grats on the good bowl news. Wish yall had more P5 opponents but c'est la vie

Their role is to be fans of their school and new conference and say whatever the hell they want. Your role, on the other hand, is obviously to be a tool.

Really? I just tuned out all the campus stuff...

I was there in person, and I realize you watched on television. We walked across the campus, enjoyed the pre-game and post-game events, walked back across campus for something to eat after the game, and enjoyed the campus scenery beyond the stadium during the game.

As for the bowls, I can't be more thrilled. That is 6 guaranteed spots for bowl eligible teams and 1 (maybe more) slot as a backup. Can't do much better than that as a non P5. Half of the 14 team league can now count on going to bowls every year if the league has that many eligibile.

The Boca Bowl will be great exposure for my school and should bring in more money as well all around. Bahamas is a fine destination bowl and will be unique atmosphere for a bowl game.

This is great news for the conference. The New Mexico Bowl is a perfect spot for UTEP or UTSA. Those schools would be able to take thousands of fans with them. I'm ecstatic over keeping the NO Bowl! I thought we might lose it. Not only did we keep it, we'll send a representative for all six years. The rotation between the Armed Forces and HoD against the B12/B10 is huge. That, along with the backup spot in the Independence Bowl, assures the CUSA champion a bowl game against a P5 opponent every year. Boca Raton and the Bahamas are great destinations. Banowsky and other conference officials really did well. These games give us great exposure and a chance to beat some good opponents. I'm optimistic and I hope a new TV contract will further solidify all our members' commitment to the conference.

I can not be happier with how this turned out for our conference. Good times ahead for CUSA. I wouldn't mind UTSA showing up 5K deep at any of those bowl games.
