Backup QB
From what I've read, Drew Hare and Matt McIntosh are neck and neck in the competition. Do you think a decision will be made before the season or will both guys play in garbage time?

RE: Backup QB
I like Drew Hare better. He is a better passer

RE: Backup QB
I thought McIntosh looked a little better of the two on Saturday although they both had their moments. My guess is both will get a chance in garbage time this fall and next spring through fall will be a barn burner between those two and Maddie for the 2014 starting spot. I could see that competition carrying into the 2014 season unless someone really separates himself.

RE: Backup QB
It sounds like they're pretty even, so I think the tie will go to the older guy.

Next year will be an open competition though obviously.

From what this says, I would think McIntosh will be the backup come game day. I kind of got the impression that Carey isn't really too impressed with either McIntosh or Hare and that's why he can't decide. I'm not trying to say they're bad, but maybe they just aren't anything special at this point. It would make sense as to why so many QBs are being brought in next season.

Who knows, maybe I'm completely wrong.

It's certainly possible. I haven't seen McIntosh or Hare that much, especially Hare but I haven't seen them do anything that made me stand up and take notice.
