Case Keenum will get some meaningful PT tonight
Texans vs. Dolphins on CBS at 8 pm Eastern

Keenum will come in with the 2s this week. Was 13/18 last week with 3 drops.

He finished 11 of 18 for 150 yards and 1 TD. Led two scoring drives. No interceptions. Also did a good job avoiding the rush a couple of times. Played a little more than a quarter.

I was at the game with my girlfriend and one of her college friends. (Her college friend was the one who had the tickets.) We were definitely excited for him. We also want him to beat out T.J. Yates for the first backup spot. He did well tonight!

And one more thing, if a six-foot one-inch 209-pound man like Keenum is too short to be a starting quarterback, 5'11" Russell Wilson has no business being the starter at Seattle. You know, since we're going by height. Armchair quarterbacks (read: sports columnists) really make me mad. 03-banghead

Keenum looked really comfortable tonight. Stepped up into the pocket well, felt the pressure, and all the timing routes were right on the money. The TD to Jean reminded me of 4th and 1 at Tulsa a couple years ago.

If they don't name him the backup, they're insane.

I agree ^^^, Keenum looked comfortable... In terms of passing skills, Keenum, IMO, should be the Texans backup.

Completely agree. Most of those incompletions were due to blown routes and drops. He overthrew his target only once or twice. And Mark Vandermeer and Andre Ware were talking about how natural he looked last night. They were right. He looked like he belonged out there, and you know something? He does belong out there.
