RE: Paxton Lynch named U of M starting QB

Reading your note made me realize --- it must be very nice to be right smack dab in the middle of all of that Sunshine State talent where when a decommitment like that occurs, you have a massive amount of high quality talent on your backup list. I think the state of Florida produces about 8 times what Tennessee does. Though, one curious side effect of Ole Miss' dramatically improved recruiting across the South: they have left the door more open to their own state -- and Miss'ippi has a lot of talent when speaking per capita. Four of our 7 commitments are from MS (zero from TN, 1 TX, 1 LA, 1 FL).
I suppose that ECU might have the second best talent base in the conference -- massive amounts of quality within the state of NC (and I don't know how much competition that Duke and Wake Forest provide in-state) .... just as long as the newbies (App State, Charlotte, ODU) nearby don't impact it much.
Long term, it won't be easy for the rest of us to keep up with you guys and USF.
Speak for yourself. Nobody in the conference has a better talent base than Houston and SMU. Especially UH.

No doubt about that. Your problem is competition from all the pro sports, the Big 12 and now, even the SEC.

RE: Paxton Lynch named U of M starting QB
This move surprised the Memphis fans, just because it came so soon. We all love Karam because he is a solid QB, and a great person, but Lynch has NFL potential. I think most people (who aren't insiders)
Tennessee has been improving in the recruiting department, but we just don't develop that many recruits. Our recruiting bases outside of TN include Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and Miss...........all of which pump out recruits.
