They just don't. Maybe an acc school with come after him but I just don't see the sec coming after him.

They get top 50 recruits and then some.

The ACC does.....don't forget Tyrod Taylor. A pure 6 footer.

Russell Wilson too

It seems like, reading Minium's piece on him that Bentley is really aware of QBs schools after him recruit. I think the only way ODU loses him is if a big SEC/ACC school makes him their #1 priority or gives him a guarantee of playing right away (highly doubtful that would happen, maybe a school like Duke?)

Once again, those are qb's in an entirely different mold than Bentley.

Bentley is a pure pocket passer.

Those guys were dual threat guys.
Sec and acc teams usually don't recruit 6"0 pure pocket passers.

Try and stay with me here.

Anthony Boone, starting QB for Duke is a "Pro-Style" Quarterback who is listed at 6-0.

Sure Alabama and LSU probably aren't going to recruit Bentley but other mid-lower tier ACC/SEC schools will definitely chase after him.

We shouldn't feel entirely comfortable in any recruits commitment until the official paperwork is faxed back to BW in Feb. We still have to wait out the high school football season and the late recruiting period. Anything could happen between now and then.

Well, unless he beats out Heinicke next season, and also wins the backup job, *and* there's an injury to TH, it's almost a guarantee.

Hope we put on a good show for them.....

How many of those are pro style qb's or dual threats?

Also sims was listed as 6-3 in high school.

If Bentley is listed at 6-0, he's probably close to 5-10.

All of those guys are pro style QB's. If they are listed at 6-1, they must be 5-11 according to your logic.

Sims was listed at 6"2 in his recruiting profile and I also saw him listed at 6"3 previously.

He also was a threat to run although not a big one.

The point is, sec/acc schools simply don't recruit undersized pocket only qb's. They just don't. You found maybe a few exceptions (and even they are debatable) that are the exception and not the rule.

I'm just happy that Bentley went out there in a big stage game on National TV and did not falter. He put on quite a performance, and then went to visit the opposing qb in the hospital after he had suffered a severe concussion. After being contacted by local press he then reconfirmed his commitment to ODU. He appears to be yet another high quality person who will represent ODU well in all respects.

I just listed a bunch that are recent QBs. Would they prefer 6-3 passers, sure. But, they will get 6 foot QBs if they believe they are good enough.

Apparently Shuler's little brother, Jake, hurt his knee/leg in this game and is supposed to or has already had surgery to repair whatever damage was done. Apparently this is not the first time he's hurt his knee/leg. Tough luck for the freshmen who already has an offer from Auburn. I Wish him the best.
