And here I thought this was a thread from last season or seasons before that was bumped. It seems every season brings attendance records and sell outs, capacity must now be 275,000 based on these annual reports floated here. 03-zzz

Can you please link to a report posted here that has listed capacity at 275,000?

Thanks in advance.

Tickets Remaining:

North Texas 1581
Marshall 2072
Austin Peay 5019
Central Michigan 3846
Miami 3551
Kent State 5298
Massachusetts 5287

From the looks of it right now about 16,500 season+student tickets have been sold.

The student set aside is 6500 with the student average last year 5900 (including mid week games). If the students can turn out big all Saturday games will be sold out.

Kent State will probably hit 20,000 as a big MAC game with the students in town. UMass as a Black Friday game will be the most challenging to sell out. 17,500 for Black Friday would be good progress.
The 2 MAC Saturday home games are Homecoming and Halloween. If the team's record is like I expect it to be, those will be epic crowds.

It is becoming crystal clear that Ohio is the MAC's flagship program.

Must be the facilities.

Yippee, the Bobcats are filling up Peden. When the Huskies and Falcons are playing in Detroit this November, at least you guys can tell people you had twenty-something thousand people in the stands.

eCK: it'd help to have one MAC championship before making that claim. Some of you Bobkitten fans enjoy "throwing dirt on Miami's coffin" with our football ineptitude as of late, but despite the overall horrendous conditon of our program most years in the last decade (and it is really bad) we still have two MAC football champsionships (2003 and 2010)....and how many does OU have in that 10 year period?

Are season tickets through the roof at Central Michigan? They went 4-4 in the MAC an won their bowl game last year so I should expect a similar 47% increase like Ohio.
So last summer they already had 20000 season tickets gone by now and this 47% increase takes them up to almost 30000 tickets. Congrats Ohio, the undisputed flagship of the MAC!

last 10 years:

MAC East Titles - Miami 4 (2003, 2004, 2007, 2010), Ohio 3 (2006, 2009, 2011)

MAC Championships - Miam 2 (2003, 2010), Ohio 0

We have accomplished way more than Ohio has over the last decade and this is the Ohio golden era and Miami's darkest decade.

That's ok, last seasons ticket thread was titled "Ohio Season Ticket Update (20,000!)" yet somehow this one boasts of a 47% increase over that number. 03-shhhh

08/17/2012: "Grand Total w/ Student Tickets: 19,966"
08/15/2013: "From the looks of it right now about 16,500 season+student tickets have been sold."
"expect a similar 47% increase like Ohio."

Some more fuzzy math from Ohio....

I think they mean an 47% increase in ticket revenue from last season, not increase in numbers.

They've raised prices making the whole number deceptive.

Also on the Grand Total Figure from 2012 I made the mistake of looking at sales for the first game and not the least popular game like I'm doing this year.

Biggest Seller: North Texas (20,219 season tickets)
Lowest Seller: Kent State (16,502 season tickets)

The North Texas game has a lot of game day purchases already made. I'm figuring that KSU doesn't have many yet as a Midweek game (but perhaps there are some). That is why I'm saying about 16,500.

If I recall last year was probably 15,000 with lower price points. This year the premium sections are 98% full so the growth is more in $$$ than numbers.

I remember riding home listening to the Ohio post game and it was estimated by the Ohio announcers that Marshall had brought nearly 10K to Athens for that game the year before last. Probably wont be as much this year with it being an 8pm game time but I would still expect 7-8K herd fans there.

I wouldn't be surprised if they end up turning away some of those driving up from Marshall to Athens this time.

Last year Ohio had to turn away students because 26,000 is the max the Fire Marshall will allow.

They aren't sold out. At least for the Marshall game. I got a call from the Ohio ticket office earlier this week offering $12 sideline seats for the Marshall game on the 25 yard line. I ended up buying 10 seats in one row. I like going to Athens. Neat little town. Good atmosphere.

Yeah that might happen. 8pm games are a little difficult on some people that are driving back after the game. Wish it would have been played at 7 instead but I still think the crowd will be good.

We are just getting things rolling down in Athens. Finally have an IPF going up. Haven't won a MAC Championship yet under Frank but that could be coming this year.

The program is Top 40 right now. A few years of finishes in the Top 25 would be the golden era, IMO.
