For example, if we are playing Filthadelphia, it is cheesesteaks and such. New Orleans, Jumbalaya and Frogmoor stew.

It would be tougher because their is not so much distinct regionalism in smaller college towns, but you could always borrow from the next biggest cities. For Delaware, blue plate diner food. Towson(borrow from Baltimore) do crab. Maine, rock the lobster and moose. Richmond... not sure, maybe Venison from the outlying areas?

What would work for each of our visiting teams to Bridgeforth this year?

Mountain Oysters and Freshwater Scallops!

RE: Gameday Ritual
Well, I'm impressed by everyone's efforts on this board. I feel compelled to share my ritual now:
Mid-August: (this year, it was last night) make a Costco run and buy the multiple cases of Sam Adam's Oktoberfest. I always tear up when I see it on display. There are 2 reasons for my tears, 1. I love SAO and 2. Dukes happen soon!

Sunday: while watching the Skins sh!t the bed, I come up with my menu for the next week

Monday: make a Costco run to buy needed supplies for menu drafted on Sunday

Tuesday -Thursday: read CSNbbs, jmusports.com, look busy, try not to tire myself with trifiling work

Friday:
AM: Don't show up for work, pontificate about Dukes
8:00 pm Convince my LSU rootin fiance that Dukes wear Purple and Gold, LSU and ECU wear purple and yellow
10:00 pm pack up the F-150 with the grill, tent, rug, chairs, tables, flag and lanterns (if night game)
11:00 pm Have an o'sh!t moment, "did I have enough streamers?" After realizing how many times we actually scored over the last few years, I realize 20 should get me through the whole season.
Saturday:
7:00: wake up
7:15: make sure that all food that needed prep work before packing is finished
7:40: pack food and frothy adult beverages in the Coleman.
7:42: attach flags, magnets and other miscellaneous Dukes items to the F-150
7:50: run into the Safeway in Fairfax with all my JMU gear on to buy ice and something random that I forgot to pack simultaneously leaving everyone that works there in complete confusion because they thought Mason was in Fairfax not JMU. Then they realize that Mason doesn't have football!
8:03: wondering how early I would have to leave to avoid traffic on I-66 as I come to a dead stop for no apparent reason.
9:00: make a stop at the Petrol just north of Woodstock to get the cheapest gas between the Burg and NOVA.
9:45: roll into P-lot space 238
9:46: open up first frothy adult beverage of the day
9:47: set up the tent, flag pole, grill, rug, table, chairs, etc. staking my claim to a lil' bit of heaven
9:54: turn on the tailgating mix on the I-pod played through the truck's bed speakers
9:55: start making breakfast on my skillet (eggs, bacon, pancakes, omelets, french toast, whatever)
9:56: listen to the fiance talk about how cold she is
10:00: buds start moseying over
10:01: we start to reminice about the days at JMU
10:45: breafast made
10:46: breakfast devoured
10:47: continue the reminicing
10:48: fiance starts getting pissed because her times at LSU weren't half as awesome!
11:00-4:30: time get blurry with my frothy adult beverages, young talent constantly walking by with their cases of Natty light; playing the new tailgate play list that includes start wearing purple, the JMU fight song (every 5th song), David Allan Coe, selections from the Dazed and Confused Soundtrack, Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffett, Guns n' Roses, Dave Matthews and Lynrd Skynrd
2:30: begin the main event on the grill (Quesdillas, finishing up a prepped brisket, brats/sausages, burgers, BBQ, etc.), combine with some tasty sides and wash it all down with frothy adult beverages
5:00: start cleaning up and securing the tailgate
5:30: walk to BFS
5:45: enter BFS
5:52: stand, listen to Pete sing the Star Spangled Banner
6:00-?: Root fer Dukes, bud!
?-Sunday: rinse and repeat

RE: Gameday Ritual
My ritual is to set up, start cooking, mozy over to Barry's set up to see and taste what he is cooking, give him a sample of what I am cooking, then back to my tent to whip all comers in cornhole. Feed a lot of college kids my nephew brings by. Pack up and go enjoy a Dukes victory. 2 hour drive home after the game. It is that simple. As Bill O'Reilly says, I am a simple man.

I still remember the brisket from last year's home opener. I stayed up for like 40 hours straight & Barry saved me a delicious bit.

what are you looking to add?

unless you are looking to drop $1,000+ (just how well is Sam's doing?) on a honda generator that would be somewhat quiet, for the sake of your wallet and noise i'd go with 2 deep cycle marine batteries with an inverter. Looking at maybe $300 all-in including the battery charger

For whatever reason I recall JJ and Hoboken as having a pretty serious rig. Dish, TV, laptop, speakers etc. Haven't seen Hobo around here I don't think unless it's a new name, but JJ's here. Not sure what thye use to power all that stuff. That'd be a good resource.
For the dish I would just run an inverter from the cars battery and keep it running. Although the marine battery option is a good idea and much easier than a generator. Really no need for a dish now. With a sling box and an iPad or iphone you can run the video out of the iPad to the monitors in your car or a flat screen tv. Anyone still using a dish is old school. But I do like to lay the claim I was the first with a Dish on Godwin..

The iPad route uses much less battery also

This is where being grandfathered into truly unlimited with AT&T pays off for me.

Does the burg have AT&T LTE? Sling is entirely dependent upon a good solid connect. You could probably do SD pretty well though.

RE: Gameday Ritual
On a far more important note, I am finalizing the 2013 playlist into Bridgeforth. Could use maybe one or two more, or I might drop "Rock and Roll all night". Doesn't fully work for me. Keep in mind that I have my kids in the car so I have to watch subject matter and language to some extent. Plus, I like getting them a good sampling of "old school" bands. I mean, I could add Flo Rida and Lil Jon, but my wife would probably kill me.

1. Beautiful Day
2. Another one bites the dust
3. Rock and Roll all night
4. Rock you like a Hurricane
5. Welcome to the Jungle
6. Born to Run
7. Lose Yourself(clean version)
8. Here comes the Boom
9. Remember the name(clean version)
10. Welcome Home
11. Start Wearing Purple

Maybe you could add "Welcome to the Show" by Saliva? JMU has used that song on the jumbo tron for the pump up video the last few seasons.

If there's a clean version of Linkin Park's "Bleed It Out", that's a good one.

I love "Rock You Like A Hurricane", but you might want to have an explanation ready in case the kids ever ask what's going on with that kitty he's singing about.

I have not checked the data usage... but I too have ATT 3G unlimited ,of note sprint has 4g lte in the burg which is unlimited also . VZW has 4g lte too. Finally if you make friends with a JMU student they can give you their campus wide wifi login

I have the sling HD. Any dish network customers can use their app also. Most tv providers now let you use the watch espn app also

"Welcome to the show" will definitely work!

I am hoping they gloss over the kitty. Then again, I had "It's Tricky" by Run/DMC on last years version and that is certainly putting a toe over the line in places... though not too bad. That linkin park track is pretty kickin too. My use that one while I stretch before my hockey games:-)

Couple questions:

Was looking into the Slingbox idea for tailgating. How much data does it eat during a normal tailgate? Are you running HD or SD quality? Which Slingbox do you have? How is the reception in the lots?

I have the slingbox. I have a 10 GB family shared plan w/ VZW and it doesn't even put a dent into it. I use the option that optimizes quality based upon bandwidth.
Reception is pretty decent in the lots.
I hook up the PC via HDMI to a flat screen and we use a Honda Generator for the TV - or we suck a car battery dry w/ an inverter for the TV.

Laptop is the way to go over Ipad. Ipad is easier, but the resolution when connected to a TV is not as good as that from a laptop.
