but overall they are ranked 89th by us news and unranked in the ARWU. i know you can look at one stat or one program and make a case for miami being under rated academically but the truth of the matter is is that michigan, texas, usc, psu etc. didnt get to where they were by looking at one or two things, they looked at the overall picture. and thats what people look at when they think of good academic schools. not one or two things, but the bg picture.
miami's academic rankings + limited name brand recognition and i think the devs got it right with their C+ grade
I know you're not bashing us, I agree with much your analysis and I too will drop this topic after this post.
Personally, I think we're underrated because of my experiences at Miami, even though its the homer in me. In reality, our lack of grad school and the absence of flagship status (combined with OSU becoming more selective in recent years) reflects in our national recognition, which isn't surprising at all. When you say 'Miami' and are talking about colleges, most assume you're talking about the U (also because it's in the city of Miami, but that's not the point). Similarly, if you're talking about Cornell, most assume you're talking about the Ivy League university instead of the liberal arts college in Iowa.
I probably shouldn't have complained in the first place about our video game academic rating without providing other schools for reference. None of this really matters however, don't think that you're offending me or anything John. Besides, Miami was a college when Florida belonged to Spain.

RE: EA's College Football game takes another hit
Parsing through this thread, I am amazed that, somehow, an "academics" d--- measuring contest made its way into a gaming thread...
Carry on.
