RE: Bengals to reimburse UC for playing at PBS
I may be wrong, but I think it was Paul Daugherty who once mentioned that Brown did a lot of charitable stuff behind the scenes. I don't know that for sure, but that was my impression.
With that said, my attitude towards the man has been very similar to yours. He is a man who never "got it" when it came to relating to the community; someone who was gifted at lining his own pocket at the expense of taxpayers and the fans he abused for decades.
I believe in redemption, but I sit here and wait for "the rest of the story." Like others, I expect some type of payback or other benefit to the Bengals that falls outside the realm of community goodwill.
I wish I didn't feel that way, but I do.

I dont think he cares about the bubble, thats small change.
Either that or it means Mike Brown has taken a very real backseat in some areas of decision making.
We are talking about a guy who has spent a lifetime honing the misers "taker" craft but hasn't shown a shred of philanthropy or goodwill of any significance publicly or privately.
I will hold out the chance that he suddenly decided to turn over a new leaf and run the team like a real NFL franchise and also had a Christmas Carol type epiphany regarding his perception and role in the community - but given his career long track record of doing the opposite in the face of dismal performance and public rage, I think the much greater chance is that these decisions, on and off the field, have been driven by others.

How exactly do you know what philanthropy or goodwill he has done privately?

So now the buck doesn't stop with Mike Brown?

This was likely pitched by Whit exactly like he pitches contributions from other corporations.
It makes sense for everyone involved.
