Watching SBC Games
I think it would be a cool idea to have a weekly "Week XX Viewing Thread" started that contains information for watching the upcoming weeks match-ups.

Who is playing, when, what channel it will be on, or a link to an online feed. I know there is a preseason listing, but sometimes those things change, sometimes a network picks your game up, and the links to online viewing seem to change daily.

What do you guys think?

RE: Watching SBC Games
Last season one of the Troy posters would put up a link to their fan page. It has a chat feature and some of us would go over there and discuss the game being played. Had a pretty good turn out for a few of them.

We will have something like that. I'm also working on making sure we have separate game threads for most games this year that include the TV listing for that game.

Awesome! I think it would be great for us newer members to have a thread of "here's when where you can watch the SBC teams this week".

I think this is a great idea. I think we should ask GT guy if its possible to implement an IRC (Internet Relay Chat - for you non-geeky types) so that we can have live chat during game. I know that would be hard to do for EVERY game and might bog down the server, but just a thought.

RE: Watching SBC Games
In the past, Troy's fan board has been gracious enough to host game day chats for this forum. However, those have usually been limited to non Saturday games because its hard to run a chat with everyone playing games that day.

Its certainly possible to check in on the possibility of a chat here or somewhere else.

We tried to use the chat feature here in the past but it seems to be finiky for some reason. Some could get on while others couldnt. It was fun though, and especially good when a SBC team was the only game on. Lots of folks rallied around the team. One thing SBC fans have is a strong desire for the programs to do well in OOC.

I can start up an IRC server or something similar. IRC is a little tough to use if you're new to it, so maybe something else would be easier. How many folks are we talking about? 10-20 people at a time?

10-20 was our average for a midweek game. I have no idea what a Saturday would bring, obviously depending on who plays at home, many of us would be unavailable.

IRC takes me back to my old gaming days.

I used this free site for my website

http://www.addonchat.com/

I upgraded it and formatted for my use but there is the free editon, with unlimited users, without a lot of bells and whistles.

Worth consideration.

I will open Troys Chat up for everyone to use again. It worked very well last year. And I will provide a link for everyone to Use.

If you are new to this, all you have to do is click my link to the chat room and make a Username when it asks you. You do not have to register with our site.

RE: Watching SBC Games
Yeah guys I wouldn't worry about making a NEW chat room for gamedays...we already have a great system set up.

Like several people have mentioned so far, I open the GoTroyTrojans.com LiveChat located on the front page. You do NOT need to register with the site to use our chatroom so it is ideal.

I am also the Head Moderator for GTT.com, have been so for longer than this community has even existed. We have the permission of GTT's owner to continue using the chatroom any day/night we want, so I recommend we do just that.

That sounds good. I was mainly looking for weekly info to be posted about where to watch all the SBC games, not chat live about them (although once I'm watching them, I would probably like a place to talk about them :)).
