Breakout player of the year? What under the radar player would you pick?
Jon Desir - He could be dominant this year.

Darius Victor. West is a dominant talent but he needs a Booker type around to change the speed of the offense and keep defenses guessing. Victor is a perfect fit for this.

I wouldn't use a true freshman as a breakout player. He hasn't played a true down yet and I'm not sure he's ready for that role. Seems more like a power back.
I like Dessir and if Willie Ponder played the way he did in the scrimmage, from where he came from, he could be a wild card.
But the breakout guy in my opinion is safety Christian Carpenter. Pretty good as a freshman. Showed some flashes in part-time duty. Big-time talent.

I would adjust my selection to be James Oboh. TE is the critical position on the field as he must deal the edge blocking on planned runs and get out in the flats on short passes. Tackles are weak so TE must rise up. Same for fullbacks in dual role of blocking and catching. West has been one dimensional yet spectacular at times. Consistency and how he will react with a slower and lesser arm at QB will make all the difference this season.

Jordan Love has the talent to take over the CAA and the spot left open by Dangerfield. Here's to him having a strong season.

Love has been injured all of camp. He's all-conference so I think expectations are high. Another guy I'd like to see more of is safety Walter Dunston, who played well at UNH last year. Not sure he'll see much time though.

Obviously that's not the case....Coach Ambrose release the hounds and run, run and run again. Leave no doubt - force the tap out.

I would agree that the OL gets a lot of pub for not a lot of actual strong play. West is an extraordinary talent and so when he makes 4 guys miss and goes for 56 that is more him being great than the line making blocks. Pike is a big example of this as it was his missed block vs Lehigh that resulted in a safety and the loss. The guards and center are strong but the team has not had a consistent tackle since Glackin left in 2011.

I'll take Harris and Pike over any pair in the FCS.

Wow, he missed one block. He must suck.
Towson averaged 5.5 yards per carry last year, Booker averaged 6.8 yards per carry. It wasn't all on making four guys miss. This is a very good offensive line. One of the best in the history of the program. We didn't win two CAA titles just based on one player.

I can't fault anyone on the line on that play, a slow developing play with play action just begs for something bad to happen since it takes so long to develop and the defense is probably coming after it being so close to the Endzone. With that being said, I thought the trick punt/pass was the biggest play of that game for the opponent. It's all about the running game this year, don't see anyone in the fcs stopping it whether they're stacked in the box or not.
