RE: CAA 2013- The Year of the Tailback
League probably never has had 5 guys capable of rushing for 1500+ before. Villanova and SBU only play 11 games, and odds are 1-2 of the 5 will get injured and miss multiple games, and only 1-2 will play in every game.

Still wouldn't surprise me to see during the regular season (not including playoffs) 3-4 top 1200 yds, and 2 top 1500.

Terrence West was impressive. He will be a problem.

I'm not as impressed by West as most. JMU held him to 4 yards per carry last year which isn't bad. He's a bruiser but not very explosive. If you can slow him up initially you can bottle him up.

Not very explosive? Are you serious?

Coker is the top pro prospect of the bunch.

Yes, he doesn't look very fast to me. Seems like a guy with great size who can pound a defense. Nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying he doesn't scare you much at the second level.

So what is the back story on Coker's transfer?

A good list of backs. Maybe another reason to look at a more explosive/balance offense. MM may face several teams that would be willing to try to run us down.

He runs a sub 4.5, I could understand if you only saw him play one game which JMU did a great job defending us. Believe me having a bye week and two weeks to prepare for an opponent helps your gameplan. Take a look at how many 40 + yard touchdowns he's had or just watch the Villanova and New Hampshire games....those fans would tell you something different.

All I can say at this point is that I'm 99% sure he will not be playing for JMU at any point if the rumors I've heard are true. Then again, they could just be that...rumors.

RE: CAA 2013- The Year of the Tailback
Mickey seems to like the two freshman tailbacks from Hampton Roads. I'd like to see a depth chart at tailback, but I'd have to think it's Scott, then Simmons and then possibly those two freshman in the mix. Isn't Latney coming back from something like an Achilles and could come back at some point this season? And I thought I read about at least one other tailback (was possibly redshirted a year ago). I'll research the JMU roster later tonight perhaps, but thought someone might have all that info at the ready.

RE: CAA 2013- The Year of the Tailback
I might look something like I posted:

Dae'Quan Scott RSR
Dejor Simmons RJR
Khalid Abdullah FR
Cardon Johnson FR
Jainard Crawley-Lambert RFR
Andre Mealy RFR

Others: J. Latney

I believe Deane Cheatham is now a TE.

A largely unproven group behind Scott. Hopefully, Latney can play at some point or it could be up to freshman.
