I think they are grossly overrated and will get taken out by somebody in the conference.

You can have whatever's left after we get done shredding their secondary with our passing attack.

It's tough to go undefeated. UofL has never accomplished that.

That is the goal though. So, at least we can earn it on the field. To bad we skip SMU this season.

We've done it before...it has just been a long time. UofL went 8-0 in 1925 under Tom King. That season featured 7 shutouts and the Cardinals outscored their opponents 133-2.

I think Ohio beats UL in week 1.

But I think Louisville still finishes 1 or 2 in the AAC.

They lost to UConn in one of its worst years ever last year. It is certainly doable.

In addition UofL has managed an 3 years span of being undefeated, on loss, and two losses in conference, a span that includes pretty much every team they will face this year. Only a second half collapse capped off by an offsides penalty that prevented overtime and the complete inability of South Florida or Louisville to beat the other on the road ever (until we traded off road wins in 2010 and 11) prevented a four year conference undefeated streak in terms of the teams on the schedule this year.

I'm not saying UofL will run they table (they could) but to call them a paper tiger is a whole other thing...and wrong. Undefeated or not they will be a legit top 20 team (if not better) and very dangerous.

To pass him statistically, he'd need to pass for about 5,000 yards (not going to happen) and 30 td's (much more likely) this year. I say this year, because unless he completely fall flat he is sure to go pro after.

Brohm never really surpassed Stefan Lefors, who had one of the best seasons ever for a quarterback, or Chris Redman who is way up there in the all time record books, much less Johnny Unitas (Cardinal alum). Brohm wasn't even the best player on his team (Michael Bush)

You know it was bad when they were down 56-0 and just tried to punt it away, and the punt was blocked and returned for a TD. The score was 63-0 in the third quarter. The best part was after the Cincy game, people became aware of the beat downs that happened when the opposing team stomps the bird. So our first year in the Big East, Rutgers came to town, and they decided they were going to stomp on the bird to show they had no respect for the C-USA team. 56-5 later, they never stomped on the bird again. Miami decided they would try it the next year. They were then beaten 31-7, in a game that was not that close (QB got hurt, so they just ran out the clock). No one has bird stomped since then.

I'm still not sure it was as bad as the Rutgers one though. Jackson posted this article on the board a while back:

Jackson1011 Wrote:And oh, how Rutgers paid. How Louisville laughed last, and laughed longest, a 56-5 victory that left Louisville livid that it didn't get a shot to break the glass on 60. No one ever has to give Louisville coach Bobby Petrino a reason to embarrass an opponent - he sleeps under Steve Spurrier posters in his bedroom - but Schiano and his kids invited a Big East beat-down of monumental proportions.

"It motivated us," understated Louisville receiver Joshua Tinch said.

"Never expected it at all," Petrino said. "Our guys took it a little bit personal because it's happened to them before."

Rutgers couldn't even say that it hadn't been warned about doing a dance on that bird. Last season, Cincinnati did it. And lost, 70-7. And then, East Carolina tried it. Louisville slipped past them, 59-7. This isn't Conference USA, this is the Big East. And unless you've the muscle to back up that kind of brazen act, you don't dare do it. Actually, you never do it.

As a result, when it was 49-5 in the fourth quarter, the brilliant Cardinals' sophomore quarterback, Brian Brohm, wasn't just still in the game, he was still in the shotgun. Inside the final two minutes, Petrino indulged his cheering fans by going for it on a fourth-and-2, getting the first down to reach 500 yards in total offense.

If you think Louisville is a paper tiger then, like a lot of our fans, you're living in a world of fantasy. Louisville is an exceptional football team.
