Don't you love how Dana basically says the same thing in the first two things? Also where did the idea that the league has just been fighting one another come from? It seems to me they have been very united in this venture.

What a post!

I agree with his point that there isn't a lot of difference among the teams from #1 through #8. Having said that, I think he's seriously underrating Providence and St. John's.

Thanks for a great read. 04-cheers

Here is how I see it. Really hard to choose #3-7. I hate to put Xavier and St. John's that low. In a ten-team league #6 and 7 feel like a snub.

1. Marquette
2. Georgetown
3. Villanova
4. Providence
5. Creighton
6. St. John's
7. Xavier
8. DePaul
9. Butler
10. Seton Hall

Although in THIS ten-team league, #6-7 mean "on the tournament bubble", which feels about right.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Frankly I don't ever see this league getting 7 out of 10 in the tournament. 6 in a great year.

Also, the only Insider article was the Goodman rankings. Everything else is fine to post in full. It is legal.

True, but #6-7 in the league will always consider themselves a bubble team going into the Big East Tournament. If #7 beats #3 and #2, they're probably in. Maybe that means #5 goes to the NIT...

AUP says you can't post in full. You can quote, you can summarize, etc, but you can't post in full. People have to follow the link to the source to get the whole thing.

On #1: We hope that that is the case. We need Nova, Stj, and Providence to be who we know they can be.

On #2: Yeah, I get that. But legally it's only a problem if it is a subscription service.

Maybe I wasn't being clear. I mean that, at this point in the year, about 100 schools consider themselves tournament locks or bubble teams. And Big East #6 and 7 would be in that group of 100.

I'll take a shot.

1. Georgetown
2. Creighton
3. Marquette
4. 'Nova
5. St.J
6. PC
7. Xavier
8. DePaul
9. Butler
10. Seton Hall

Smith is suppose to be pretty fit now. GU will do great in the regular season, post season I'm not as confident. People under estimate Buzz as a coach but he is actually pretty good with the talent/experience that he has to work with.

I'll go with:

1. Marquette
2. Georgetown
3. Villanova
4. Creighton
5. St.J
6. PC
7. Xavier
8. Butler
9. Depaul
10. Seton Hall

Creighton will be lights out offensively. However, with the loss of Echenique, are interior defense will take a hit. Also, the fact that we are going to 9 new venues on the road, we are probably gonna lose some road games we shouldn't.

Here are my complete BIASED picks:

1) Xavier - Should be much improved offensively with a lot more depth than last year and defensively this will be a very strong team. Also you have a potential top 10 pick in a deep NBA draft next year.
2) St. Johns - talent and they put it together this year
3) Marquette - Buzz Williams

4-7 is pick'em
4) Villanova
5) Creighton
6) Georgetown
7) Providence

8) Butler
9) Seton Hall
10) DePaul
