Nobody ever mistakes La Tech for ULM or Grambling and you know it. No, unlike ULL, the La Tech brand is firmly established and well known, nationwide. And Tech will always be what Tech is right now; while UL will be a Carnagie National Research University/Very High Research, an SREB Tier 1 University, the most vibrant, dynamic and enlightened university in Louisiana, and a university with an athletic program that has actual fans in 65000 seats on fall Saturdays, rather than 18000 fans and 12000 blue tarp covered seats.

It is not the quality of education at Latech that makes it a Tier I institution. It is the area and the educational system around Ruston and Monroe that makes it a Tier I. Ouachita actually puts money into there schools. Look at Drew School Districts, West Monroe, and, Ouachita High School, West Ouachita all rate in the top 25 of all Louisiana High Schools. Both the Texas State and UL videos were pretty good. Due to the differing lengths, they were made for slightly different purposes.

Here is UT Arlington's latest. It is really short...about 30 seconds. It is literally a commercial. It plays twice at each Dallas Cowboy game, plays at Texas Rangers games, and is the TV commercial. I don't like it quite as much as last year's, but it serves its purpose. Quickly shows energy, diversity, and nice campus views.

Their appearance in the Top 25 was brief and no one remembers it after they fell of the cliff at the end of the year, and sat home during bowl season. Yea, we were in the Top 25! Uh, where did you finish the season Jethro?

I had a seminary roommate who was a Latex grad (awesome guy).

I had a former employer/friend who now works at ULM (also awesome guy).

I knew someone who worked at UL (He was cool too), but anytime I ever heard it mentioned in New Orleans it was ULL (sorry guys).

It took me 2 years to figure out that the Ragin Cajuns and the University of Louisiana Lafayette were the same school.

To an average football fan LaTech's top 25 immediately made me think they were better than anyone else in the Sun Belt (I'm not saying that's true, just the perception to the average fan).

Oh, and you guys arguing is pretty funny, so please continue while I pop my popcorn.
