How will DQ compare?
I'm trying to come up with a defense for Selig but I really can't.

I've enjoyed Stoss the last year or so.

Eugene Holloman?
Jordan Anderson?
Griff Yancey?
Alvin Banks?
Raymond Hines?
Mo Fenner?

I believe most of the above backs had significant injuries while playing for JMU. Keaton had plenty of help with him on offense. Mike Connelly was good QB with Keaton and had a big day at UConn game. DQ the only RB who had to play QB to save a season for JMU. The last few years have been a little discouraging due to players/team underacheivers/injuries. DQ has been there at times to carry the whole offense as best as one man could. I hope his senior year will be fantastic and he will be remembered as another great JMU runningback.

You will get no argument from me. Hell of a runner. It is amazing how good a lot of the athletes we had were in the early days.

You could probably get a pretty accurate gauge on the performance of the RB's based on the performance and overall health of the O-line. We've had some good backs that didn't have the benefit of either a solid line or one that wasn't all banged up.

That seems to be a thorn in the side in more recent campaigns. DQ with a healthy, veteran line and look out!

Warren Marshall was great! Pretty sure his son was on of the top RB recruits in the nation last year. Not sure where he ended up. Anyone know? Think he was looking at several SEC schools.

Rumor has it we have best Offensive Line ever to start this season. Wouldn't it be nice to not loose two O Linemen in one game this year!!

Exactly. We seem to lose them in pairs at least, and in bunches at worst and for extended periods of time. Then the cries of "next man up" go out and any fair minded person that's ever played or coached knows it isn't nearly that simple. Starters are starters for a reason, 2nd and 3rd stringers are there for a reason too.

Well, we've already lost one....

Yea, I know. One is probably manageable, or at least should be. Plus it's really early, can rep the next guy in line. Now, if it spreads to 2, or even 3 and now we're looking at having to shuffle positions potentially, bringing up guys that are clearly a year or so away, either physically or in knowing how to all do the dance together, then we got problems.

Clearly I know you know all this, but a serious case of the injury bug is FAAAAAR harder to overcome than many may think.

Raymond weighed 175-180 pounds soaking wet with rocks in his pockets.

If you have not noticed, DQ is a solid 215 this season.

I always thought of Hines as a slicer and a sneaky runner. DQ says, I've got the ball, watch my feet, if you get guess right, be ready to take a hit, because I'm a football player.

Yeah, the Hines comparison is off. No disrespect, he was a good player. But for people who have never met or been close to DQ, he is built like a brick ****house. Very compact. As Mickey said once, DQ isn't small, he's just not tall. Kind of reminds me of a Brian Westbrook type of body figure.

If there are no more major injuries to the line in preseason, I will say Scott gets 1,200 rushing yards in the regular season and another 200 receiving.

RE: How will DQ compare?
With another game added with Charlotte, I could see that. I could actually see him going way over 200 receiveing depending on how they play the offense. He had a 50 yard TD against ODU so that'd get 1/4th of it right there. I do think that if JMU is up big in the first week, it'll be like a preseason game and he'll pull him early.

Agree--I say more like 1000 rushing, 400 receiving

Are we talking about looks or playing style? I was talking about playing style. I saw that he put on weight. I am hoping he kept his speed and ability up and can stay injury free.
