That has been he only thing he exceeds at.

Let's respect the Purple Heart please. (3 in John Kerry's case)

How many other boat commanders put themselves in for 3 in such a short period of time with such minor cuts? Kerry is a greedy show boater. He was lucky to get out of Nam without being fragged.

Can a person actually nominate themselves for a purple heart?

Back then the boat commander, being the highest ranking officer on board, was the one that normally put the paperwork in for the Purple Hearts. That's why Kerry nominated himself for three so fast. He was a gold digger, and even talked about it helping him when he went into politics. Probably cut his own arm with a pen knife once or twice.

Anybody that nominated themselves should have been immediately rejected, IMHO. That reeks of vanity.

I remember the campaign ads. I just don't believe anything in any campaign ad. Too many lies on both sides.

He certainly used those three medals. Was testifying before Congress before
the end of the war, as an expert witness. Believe those that said that he wanted
that particular position so that he could do that. Sounds realistic considering how
he has used it all these years.

Another example on this forum that the Liberals will defend Barry...no matter what he does. This is the act of an child..not a world leader.

This is also another example of Obama's failure to live up to he campaign promises. He ran constantly on his desire to use diplomacy as his foreign policy tool. He may be the biggest flip-flopper in history.

It is now being reported that Putin sent his well wishes to GWB after his heart surgery and Obama didn't call. I would think Obama would be grateful to GWB for putting the infrastructure in place to make his dictatorship possible.

Bush could have caused Obama so much trouble by running his mouth about a lot of things continuously.

How many from enemy fire? Of what kind? How many of the awards were initiated by someone other than Kerry?

No. He stomped them in a peace rally. He's an unAmerican piece of sh*t and doesn't deserve any respect.

That's because liberals were too busy wishing death upon him and laughing, saying they hope malpractice happens... Real childish stuff like that. Had Obama called him, he would have gone down even more in approval points...

I think Obama is afraid to go to Russia because they are arresting gays there.

It didn't stop Obama from going to Senegal, a Muslim country where they arrest Gay persons. He also, to his great credit, publically criticized Senegal, in the presence of the Senegalese President, while on Senegalese soil, for that fact.

I'm glad Obama told Russia, no thanks, to the summit meeting. It is being seen in Moscow as a huge rebuke to Putin. It was the correct answer.

What would be the purpose of Obama meeting with Putin? Lets look at the US agenda items.

1) Syria - Russia has been supporting Assad, even as he gasses his own people, and putting Assad's tenure above the safety and security of the region. No common ground there.

2) Iran - Russia has been undermining the sanctions on Iran. And providing Iran with nuclear materials. Putin won't stop doing so and has been shown to be completely unwilling to change there. No common ground.

3) Human Rights - Russia has been abusing its LGBT community, minorities of color, press organizations, RELIGIOUS groups, regime opponents, and is in complete violation of just about every international treaty and accord it has acceded to. Putin's government has been ramping up the repression. No common ground. The Magnitski case hasn't helped either.

4) Business Laws and Commerce - Russia whined for years to join the WTC and then has refused to accept any of the accords of said organization once granted entry. Russia also has been targeting US and foreign corporations unfairly. No common ground.

5) Snowden - Russia provided sanctuary to a traitor to our country. Its their right to do so, but Obama is correct to help Russia understand that there are consequences to such behavior. No common ground there.

6) Gay rights - Russia has been ramping up its' repression of its LGBT community. Repression that includes physical violence and deaths. No common ground there.

7) Putin takes pride in working against US interests at all times. He funds and supports US opponents like Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Belarus, Bolivia, and Nicaragua. No real common ground there.

So, Russia has shown itself to be completely unreliable or completely unwilling to find common ground with Obama on anything. What should they talk about? The weather? I'd love to see your agenda for such a meeting.

Putin needs Obama to meet with him so he can feed his image at home as a 'world class' leader. Obama isn't going to give him squat.

Good for Obama. Good for the USA.

If muslims hate gays, and Obama is muslim, does he hate gays too and just hide it for his voters, or does he go totally against the grain and support gays, which would get him killed.

Taking your premise further, even as ridiculous as some may claim the idea to be, especially gays that now think everything is wine and roses. Obama has to draw them out so that when Sharia Law goes into effect he can cure their ailments with a permanent dirt nap. Smart man that Obama. Even will have marriage records to prove beyond the shadow of doubt.

RE: Obama cancels summit with Putin in Moscow amid tensions over NSA leaker Snowden
Well this is nice . . .

Quote:The documents, provided earlier this summer to The Washington Post by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, include a level of detail and analysis that is not routinely shared with Congress or the special court that oversees surveillance. In one of the documents, agency personnel are instructed to remove details and substitute more generic language in reports to the Justice Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. . . .

In another case, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which has authority over some NSA operations, did not learn about a new collection method until it had been in operation for many months. The court ruled it unconstitutional. . . .

The NSA audit obtained by The Post, dated May 2012, counted 2,776 incidents in the preceding 12 months of unauthorized collection, storage, access to or distribution of legally protected communications. Most were unintended. Many involved failures of due diligence or violations of standard operating procedure. The most serious incidents included a violation of a court order and unauthorized use of data about more than 3,000 Americans and green-card holders. . . .

The May 2012 audit, intended for the agency’s top leaders, counts only incidents at the NSA’s Fort Meade headquarters and other facilities in the Washington area. Three government officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss classified matters, said the number would be substantially higher if it included other NSA operating units and regional collection centers. . . .

In dozens of cases, NSA personnel made careless use of the agency’s extraordinary powers, according to individual auditing reports. One team of analysts in Hawaii, for example, asked a system called DISHFIRE to find any communications that mentioned both the Swedish manufacturer Ericsson and “radio” or “radar” — a query that could just as easily have collected on people in the United States as on their Pakistani military target.

The NSA uses the term “incidental” when it sweeps up the records of an American while targeting a foreigner or a U.S. person who is believed to be involved in terrorism. Official guidelines for NSA personnel say that kind of incident, pervasive under current practices, “does not constitute a . . . violation” and “does not have to be reported” to the NSA inspector general for inclusion in quarterly reports to Congress. Once added to its databases, absent other restrictions, the communications of Americans may be searched freely.
