Quote:The Kool-Aid must be excellent in Statesboro. Florida's third string team would maul your starters before the 1st Qtr was over.
Speed, size, strength, and depth relegate you upstarts to 30 point dogs. It could be worse if they want it to be.
Heard the same thing about Bama. Heard the same thing about UGA. Hear it about Florida this year. Going to hear it about LSU soon too. In other news, the sun also rose today...
GSU will have played in Braynt Denny, Samford, and the Swamp three years in a row as an 'FCS' team. I think Death Valley is next year or 2015. Big deal. Nothing new to us. Nothing scary to us. Nothing we haven't seen (size, speed, and strength) before. If anything, it's good to have that kind of challenge each year.
While both the Bama and UGA games were losses, we put up 302 rushing yards against both of them, which I think is very respectable. Not much of that was done in 'garbage' time. If anything when you look at those two games, most of the yards and points were accumulated in the first 3 quarters of both games. Hell, I remember Saban going for it against us on 4th down late in the 4th quarter and eventually scoring on that drive. But he will tell you style points don't matter.
(Interesting side discussion: 2011 was when Bama lost to LSU in the regular season and played them again for the championship. Question, if the final score of the GSU-Bama game is 38-21 or, god forbid, 31-21 (aka that blocked kick returned for a touchdown doesn't happen) do they get to go to the national championship?)
But I get what you are saying. What possible hope could we, a tiny program with tiny players, running a high school offense, have against a mighty team like Florida.
Now hop in the DeLorean, gun it to 88mph and head to 2007. Michigan is going to put a HUGE hurt on App State. They are too big, to fast, and have too much depth. App shouldn't bother showing up. It's just a money game and an easy win to start the season for Michigan.
(I can't believe I just gave props to Appy)
