I guess it doesn't matter much, but they still just have a splash page with no content.

http://www.bigeast.org/

Pretty pathetic.

And yet they are making twice the money we are, so again they did something right.

Do you realize how insignificant $2m annual dollars per school is, in the grand scheme of college athletics budgets? Obviously not. The fact is they got paid a premium to be a featured product on the launch a new channel. A new channel that, by the way, may be operating in relative obscurity and is having difficulty gaining access to certain distribution networks.

Comparatively, the exposure we are going to have on ESPN is going to be outstanding. It will allow the AAC to sign marketing agreements (sponsorships for things like the basketball tournament and championship football game) that will make up a lot of that revenue. The fact is, there are innumerable ways to make up for approx. 2m in revenue.

But feel free to continue bitching about every little thing.

I think the C7 will regret leaving eventually. I think being associated with big-time, all sports FBS schools was important to keeping up the perception that those schools were also big-time athletic programs. We shall see. However, still being in a conference with UConn, Cincy, Temple, and Memphis would inarguably be higher profile than Butler, Creighton, and Xavier.

That is a point to be made... FS1 will probably launch with less viewers than FS2 (Fuel TV). They have not gotten the money they want for distribution.

I may be coming really late to the party on this one, but has there been an official press release with hard numbers regarding the Fox Sports / Big East deal? I don’t remember seeing anything more than articles that used language like “said to be in the range of”. I also wonder if there was a contingencies from either side based on how many homes the network is in by certain milestone dates.

Yeah I realize exactly how insignificant it is, because that's are Aresco could get this league.

She admitted on Wednesday that he current office is her iPhone and that the league is looking to find a short-term space in New York City, where the conference will be headquartered. From there it will be building alliances and forging relationships that will help the new Big East rise to the level of the old one.

Do people realize they gave up their rights to the NCAA credits and exit fees. Fox had to pay them enough money to cover the amount of money they would be leaving on the table plus startup fees. Not a single one of those schools are going to bring in revenue related to major football which includes ticket sales, merchandise deals, and playoff money.

They are major conference in terms of basketball quality because they will earn multiple bids to the NCAA tournament every season; however, their voting rights are not equal to any of the major football leagues. Watching what happens to that league is going to be very interesting.

That was 1980 before BCS and big football. It's 2013

Big East football began in 1991. There was no Big East football in the 80's.
In the 80's catholic schools, Providence, GTown, Seton Hall all made title game appearances - won national titles.

In more recent times, the football schools, Cuse, Ville, and UConn have had the better seasons related to BBall.

I remember all that. And as i said, Big East basketball thrived in the 1980s despite not having any connection to big time football.

true point there......I read Fox wants 80something cents per sub for FS1, whereas Speed is only garnering something like 20 or 25 cents per sub right now. There's no deal with Direct TV as of now.
