Johnny Football may be in deep trouble
NCAA investigating Johnny receiving big bucks in exchange for autographs.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--ncaa...50855.html

If proven true, the kid's college career could be over.

Poor Aggies...they just can't seem to handle success. 03-yawn

It wouldn't be over... just delayed.

And some nfl team would just grab him anyway.

RE: Johnny Football may be in deep trouble
Some are questioning how he would translate into the NFL. The talking heads on TV keep saying, "he's a great college player, but..."

His parents are supposedly wealthy, so I'm not sure why he would need to cash in on his autograph unless its some kind of ego booster. Regardless of whether or not people think college players should be able to get some money from their name, he should know that this is against the rules. Hubris is a powerful thing.

His family has Texas Oil Money... His family is very wealthy and he really has no need to ever sell his autograph. I imagine this whole autograph-for-money nonsense is just one more example of how the media blows up every little thing in Manziels life. IF the NCAA actually manages to find some proof other than a photo taken inside a cheap hotel in Texas of Manziel signing a couple of pictures, then there will be a news story. Until that happens, I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. He's just a kid trying to enjoy his life and the whole country stares at him waiting for something new to talk about.

I'm tired of hearing about this guy spiraling downhill. He's like the Amanda Bynes of college football.

That's kind of my point. Is he really spiraling down? As far as I can tell he hasn't actually done anything illegal or outwardly stupid since he was arrested before last the last football season even started. Its ridiculous that he gets as much attention that he does for basically doing what any of us wish we could have done in college. The Amanda Bynes comparison sadly works, but only because the media gobbles up any piece of news with his name in it.

The best thing that could have ever happened for him, is if twitter had never existed. I should never see on the front page of CNN "Johnny Football Tweeted ______." Its absurd.

I've heard numbers of as high as 1600 autographed items for sale. He made the statement that he was no longer signing things "for Free".

Admittedly I have been watching this 10x more than I feel like admitting. But as my last contribution to this discussion, apparently it was his personal assistant that said it will cost money to get additional signatures while Manziel wasn't around. The 'guy' being a broker / unnamed source that no one can seem to confirm actually exists.

Cause our Admin is running around somewhere in Europe or Japan or something, so we are free to invite all our friends over, drink all the liquor in the place, wreck the joint and worry about housekeeping later.

WooooHooooo!!!!!

RE: Johnny Football may be in deep trouble
His own father came out on record saying the kid has been making some bad decisions. He even turned down one of his old high school teachers asking for an autograph. There's no question the kid can play. We all have made stupid decisions in college, but none of us have been a starting freshman QB that won a Heisman. He's got people consulting him on what to do and not to do. It's not like he's just doing dumb things- he's doing dumb things after people are telling him not to do those things. He feels like he's above the law and above scrutiny.
Sorry, but I don't have any sympathy for "Johnny Football".

He didn't announce that, his assistant did. That may be his way out of this.

I can't imagine how depressing this must be for the A&M fan base.
