How can your team get to a BCS game this season.
1) VT beat Alabama
2) Marshall going 13-0
3) ECU and Marshall being Undefeated going into the last game of the season.
4) VT only losing to MU and ECU
5) Tulsa only losing to MU twice and ECU
6) Ohio being ranked when we play them

Go 12/13-0 and pray for the best. If the MWC can pick itself apart, and UL drops a conference game en route to an American championship, a CUSA/SBC team might make a stab at it. For us, UK and UT have to fight off a few of the other cellar dwellars, Navy and Army need good years, and the other SBC teams need to have good OOC wins coming into conference play.

First we would have to beat New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma State. Then, each of those teams would have win their conference and be ranked in the top 20.

After that, all we'd have to do is run the table within conference, and I suspect we'd get an invite into the Sugar Bowl. No biggie.

Marshall wouldn't need all that to happen. All we would need (and I'm not saying it will happen) is for us to go 13-0 and be the only undefeated G5 school. If that happened, we'd get a bid. If everything happened you said we would have a shot at the title game provided there was only one 1 loss P5 team and no undefeated P5 teams.

Seriously though, good luck this season.

Pretty simple really, if ECU wins every game on our schedule it likely happens. That's asking a lot obviously, but starting out receiving a few votes with 3 AQ schools on the schedule if we could take care of business I'd like our chances just fine.

I agree. I think for several teams in this conference it's that simple too. I mean if UAB somehow wins at Vandy and at LSU, then runs the table in the conference, I don't see how they are kept out a BCS game. It's really, really hard to go undefeated in college football. I think for most teams it's as simple as win every game on your schedule and you have a shot at it.

UAB only has to win @Troy @Vandy @LSU @FIU @UTSA @Marshall @ECU and somehow manage to go undefeated at home.

Well,......................if about 125 FBS schools fall of the face of the Earth, and the NCAA allows us to move up 2 years early....................

Simple. We just run the table on our schedule...

And... UNC needs to win the ACC (nope.) and BYU needs to be top 10 material. Blah.

We have to repeat 2011 minus the two losses.

Just win baby!

I do love how the Marshall boys haven't even won a C-USA title yet and are already ready for a BCS bowl. They must have something in the arsenal this season.

We have Rice.
SEC has Vandy.
Big XII has Baylor.
B1G has Purdue.
ACC, MWC, the Belt, and AAC might be screwed.
Pac Whatever has Sanford.

We are hoping for a special season here in Huntington. Going undefeated is a long shot, but 9-10 wins is not. Thankfully the season begins at the end of the month so we can finally see what we have on the feild. Here's hoping for a decent defense.
