RE: Illinois roadtrip/tailgating thread
Figured this was as good a place as any to post this, but I need help from any fellow Chicagoans.

I'll be in the windy city for work on Sat the 7th, and I remember watching the UC/Tennessee game in (what seemed like) an Irish bar there a few years ago. The owner was a Bearcat fan and there were all kinds of UC fans there that day. Any help on what the name of this place was? And is it still the best spot to catch a Bearcat football game near downtown Chi-town?

I remember having a blast there a few years ago; any/all help would be appreciated.

Probably O'Leary's. Good bar, serves Skyline and Montgomery Inn.

For those thinking about making the trip, tickets on Stubhub cost next to nothing right now. Good seats for less than 10 dollars per.

Hey Mark;

Have you ever been to Illini's stadium? Where did you end up seating wise?

I have never been. My buddy bought our tickets last week. We are in section 206. I'd have liked to been lower since so many first level seats are available for a cheap price, but hopefully we'll be in the lower portion of the upper deck. He was not positive on our row.

i just went through the illini's site. They kill you with fees ($5 per ticket and $12 order charge), but the good tix are all $39. i'm in 126, row 10.

When is the game guys? Been living in Illinois since 2009, may have to make it to a game in Champaign. I like Northwesterns stadium, went there for Northwestern vs Michigan in 2011 i believe.

O'Leary's is nice went there when UC played Florida in the bowl. Need to stop in again.

Tickets arrived today from the UC allotment. We're in Section 208, row 27 & 28.

We must be sitting pretty close....our tix showed up today and are in 208 - Row 28.

Not sure if I'm going to go all the way to Champaign and watch from the nose bleeds. So I just went to StubHub and found many tickets in Section 109 (in front of UC section) for under $10. Mine averaged out with all the fees to be less than $9 each. Now I have options.

I'm in Sec. 105. I'm driving out early Sat. morning, so I probably won't be able to tailgate with folks. Long shot here, but is anyone else heading up to Chicago for the Bengals/Bears game on Sunday?

Looked at the forecast and it's supposed to be hot. 88 degrees and sunny. Maybe we need to keep the white-out uni's around for another week.

RE: Illinois roadtrip/tailgating thread
just might make the trip afterall! i'll be in chicago for work (w/o a vehicle) but i'm free saturday morn/afternoon. car rentals are down to $25 and tickets on stubhub are sub-$5. need to make good time after the game in order to get back to the windy city for a dinner meeting but it sounds doable.

if i buy a cheap ticket online, is section 109ish where the uc fans'll be?
