Has Anthony Maddie been practicing or not. I'm not sure how all those transfer rules work.

No word on tailgating yet.

LOL, get a tailgating tradition going for practices. That would be outstanding.

+1

Enough people are asking.

They should encourage it for the Saturday practices even if they dont do anything else.

It doesn't seem they are doing the Family Day/Night for a second year.

RE: Fall 2013 Practice Thread
From HW:
(Also saw "tweet" there was a nice crowd on hand last night.)

http://www.huskiewire.com/articles/2013/.../index.xml

Quote:Stingily, who played the position at Romeoville High School and averaged nearly seven yards per carry his senior year, received the majority of the first-team carries during the Huskies' scrimmage Saturday night. Stingily broke off some nice runs, had a short-yardage touchdown and even got an ovation from the crowd on a scamper in which he broke a few tackles.

http://www.huskiewire.com/blogs/entries/.../index.xml

Quote:Aregeros Turner is one freshman who's stood out so far. He will play some running back, but Saturday he took his reps at wide receiver with the second team.

NIU Media Services posted 53 pics from last night's scrimmage on Facebook. Some are crowd shots.

I saw a tweet that the Dixon Dukes Varsity players were on the sideline. Wonder if there were other HS's represented

RE: Fall 2013 Practice Thread
My observations. I was watching the O more than the D.

RB - Akeem was not dressed. Harris, Bowers, Spencer, Stingley and the true frosh Bougnan (sp) took reps. Stingley looked pretty darn good. Scored a couple of TDs and made several nice runs. Looks like he could be a great short yardage back for us. Spencer showed nice burst through the line. Personally, I really like watching Bowers play. turner took no snaps at RB.

WR - TLL is going to have a monster year. Really excited to see him as our #1. Sebastiano was probably the most impressive of the night. Caught everything that came his way. He is my pick as a sleeper to have a big year. Brown looked good. Made a great over the shoulder catch in the corner of the end zone with two guys on him. I gotta say, Williams looks like he could be a good WR. Made a sweet catch on the sideline. Turner made a few nice plays. The dude can fly. He will be exciting. We went to a few 5 wide out sets with Lynch alone in the backfield. I don't know how a D could stop that.

TE - Eakes and Maxwell took the most reps.

New scoreboard is really nice (it wasn't on). Ribbon boards on both sides go from 35 to 35. Also put in new play clocks. The play clock in the north end zone also has a game clock. Goal posts are bright yellow. They really pop at night.

Chessick Center is amazing. I walked around inside. The wall facing Yordon is all glass so you can see right in if you're walking in the hall between the two. They did a great job laying out the Yordon and Chessick buildings. They fit together seamlessly and fit into that area of campus nicely. I like that they even kept the trees right outside Chessick. It really does give HS a horseshoe feeling. It sure would be nice to put seats in the south end zone.

Great night. Fun to be back in Huskie Stadium. Can't wait for the home opener. I think there is another scrimmage next Saturday night. If you have nothing going on, it's worth the trip out to DeKalb.
