WBB Recruits for 2013/2014
Greetings All

I seem to have missed who the Lady Dukes have recruited for the upcoming WBB season. Does anyone have any info on who Kenny and company have signed for the upcoming year? Can't seem to find any info anywhere.

Thanks.

Brian

I have reliable info from the team that Chania Ray has withdrawn her commitment. Pretty significant loss.

Well, that stinks. Wish her well though.

I think we're still in on Mikayla Venson, though, and she would be a HUGE get if we signed her. Her father played ball for JMU.

Guys

Thanks for the updates. Any info on the particulars for the two young ladies for 2013, ie position, size etc?

Thanks.

I know DD Griffin is supposed to be good. Similar in style to Nikki Newman, about the same size too. I've heard Amani Tatum has some potential but is likely to be of less long term impact. All in all, not a bad class, but nothing compared to last year.

So I won a free lunch with the coaches tomorrow, if there are any questions you would like for me to ask, let me know and I will hopefully remember to ask.

Please ask Coach if he can please not have anyone shoot over 20 times in a game again. I cannot take anymore 5-25 in the box score. We need some balance in our shot taking, which will hopefully result in more shot making. Tell him thanks for the great job he is doing first!

86, are you sure we're still in the loop for Venson? I can't remember for sure, but I thought awhile ago I read an article where her top 5 didn't include us, but that could have been something else.

Kind of agree with 71...in question form. Does he plan to implement a more balanced shooting strategy with the myriad of options to avoid "live by Dawn/Tarik, die by Dawn/Tarik" kind of nights?

Also wondering how Kenny's planning on implementing Okafor. Starter off the bat?

Just realized this was lunch today...sooo perhaps nevermind. Unless it's a late lunch.

I had heard we were in the conversation as a serious option about a month or 2 ago, but I wouldn't be surprised if we were moved off the list. She was a 4-star 95 grade as a junior. Not sure we're gonna land many of that caliber.

Last summer, Ogunrinde had high interest from Texas, Oklahoma, NC State, Temple, and a few others..she's a solid player and is really gonna help us in the post down the road. Still hurts that we lost Chania Ray for the 2014 class, but Carley Brew is a good get also. Kenny needs to find himself a solid guard now for this class.

Saw this a while ago but forgot to post it. This could be the solid guard you were looking for.

@ASGR1995: James Madison picks up 2014 verbal commitment from Hailee Barron 5-9 PG from Rice HS VT. Barron performs for Lone Wolf AAU.

News story about her committing to JMU.

Haven't seen her play...but her other offers (as shared in the article) are underwhelming. Hope she continues to improve at JMU...and if she's a good student that is a plus. However, her "creds" don't strike me as a player that can move the JMU program forward.

Seems to me this recruiting class is not up to the standards recently set by KB, nor are they in alignment with the success of the program or the identity of the CAA as a top WBB league.
