Enrique Florence Transfers To Troy
Report Day Treasure No.2 came in today as ESPN's #4 ranked High School Safety from 2011 has transfered to Troy for fall camp. He has been ranked as high as 2 and 3 by other services. He will have to sit out a year unless he gets a waiver from the NCAA (not likely).

TROY, Ala. – Troy football head coach Larry Blakeney announced Tuesday afternoon the addition of former Auburn safety Erique Florence to the Troy roster. Florence reported to campus Tuesday and will join the Trojans for fall camp.

"We are pleased that Erique has decided to come to Troy," Blakeney said. "We have had success in the past with young men who have needed an opportunity to continue their playing career and education. I personally visited with Erique and his mother Chyristal, and I really think he is a young man who deserves that opportunity."

Florence was rated as the No. 4 safety by ESPN.com/Scouts Inc. and the No. 52 player overall on the ESPNU 150 coming out of Valley High School in 2011. Rivals.com named him the No. 3 safety in the country, the No. 3 player in the state of Alabama and the No. 69 player in the country.

Florence was invited to play in the 2011 Under Armour All-America Game where he intercepted a pass. He was ranked third on the Birmingham News' Super Seniors list and fifth on the Mobile Press-Register's Elite 18.

The 6-foot-1, 182-pound junior played in 13 games at Auburn in 2011 and led all true freshmen with 23 tackles. Florence also had a tackle for loss, a sack, one forced fumble and a pass break up during his rookie campaign with the Tigers. Last season, he played in seven games and made eight tackles with one for a loss.

Question about your signature photo --- why all the empty seats? Who were you playing?

Thanks.

Any Non-BCS opponent will produce results like that in Troy. UAB and South have a chance to produce some great crowds though.

Unless it's extreme circumstances I believe the deadline for waivers has passed. They're being very picky these days. We have a guy who was denied even thought he left his previous school and there are personal family issues (that's why he came back closer to home)

He redshirted last year (at previous school) and now loses a year sitting out so will only get 3 years of playing time.

No deadline has passed ... it all depends on who sees the case and can they make a compelling enough argument. No exact science on figuring them out.

I watched him play in high school. Im from the area. He is a really good player. GSU was recruiting another guy at his high school (Valley) his senior year. Saw him play a couple times and thought he was real good before the Rivals and all those guys even ranked him. Nice pick up IMO.

That was also pre-game and people who sit on the top, reserved level are inside that air conditioned Stadium Club area (windows), stuck in line and on the slowest elevator in the South, still outside tailgating, or are flat-out late arrivers.
