NFL Players I Have Seen at BFS
Let's talk sports. Today's topic...future NFL studs we have seen play at BFS.

Just the other day I read an article about the new multi-multi-million dollar contracts signed by Victor Cruz and Joe Flacco, and it made me pause and reflect upon the many outstanding football players who have graced JMU's field. Who can forget that UMass game where Rodney and company were scorching hot for the first half, only to see Cruz catch 12 balls (was it for over 200 yards and a couple scores?) in a furious comeback attempt that fell short. Or the beat down JMU gave UD and Flacco his junior season?

There are many others...give us a name and share your personal story. The filter is "Players who played for or against JMU at BFS, and then went on to glory in the NFL."

Tim Hightower
Armanti Edwards
B.W. Webb

Isn't Pat Devlin a backup QB somewhere?

Those are great players! But please share a story (from your perspective)....creating a list of names of great players is only half the joy! Take a walk down memory lane....

Bjorn Nitmo! I think he kicked about a 60 yarder against us.

I remember Hightower giving us fits back in 07...and Edwards being all hyped up before the 08 game and being overshadowed by Rodney Landers....don't remember too much about Webb other than the dreds. Probably means he was doing a good job if you don't pay much attention to a cornerback.

I also remember Devlin being knocked out by DJ Bryant early in the game back in 2010....that threw Delawhere fans into a tizzy.

RE: NFL Players I Have Seen at BFS
One need not look further than Towson to find some great NFL players who played against JMU. Here are a few, but there are more:

Jermon Bushrod. Played at King George High with D.D. Boxley. He has been an all pro 2 yrs and recently signed with the Bears as a free agent.

Dave Meggett. He tore us up at Towson back when they only had one side to their stadium.

Sean Landetta.

Madieu Williams.

Sean lissimore was a beast on the DL for W&M. We beat that W&M team with 0 yards passing. Great day in a forgettable year.

RE: NFL Players I Have Seen at BFS
here is the game recap from 2006

http://www.jmusports.com/ViewArticle.dbm...LID=794039

Quote:Moats' fumble return for a touchdown came off a sack by JMU senior defensive tackle Chuck Suppon (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) and was the Dukes' third fumble return for a score this season.

Quote:JMU's defenders registered four sacks for the game, raising their season total to 40, the most a Dukes squad ever has produced during a regular season. Junior tackle John Baranowsky (Sudbury, Mass./Linclon-Sudbury) had two of the sacks, and JMU also got 14 overall tackles and two stops for loss from senior linebacker Akeem Jordan (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg).

I was wrong - akeem never registered a sack, just tackles for loss, but we got 4 sacks that game. Flacco was probably on his back more that game than any game in his career.

I was waiting for someone to mention Westbrook! The best all-around college back I've ever seen...and I was a grad student at UT and watched many a game when Earl Campbell played there.

Until recently people have tended to be dismissive of Towson FB, but as the names you've shared indicate, the Tigers have produced some great players! Meggett was like Westbrook, a holy terror!

Reading the topic alone made me think of one player- Brian Westbrook. I know he's already been mentioned, but that was a memorable performance watching him run.

Not sure if this one counts, but how about Curtis Keaton? He had a very, very brief stint with the Bengals.

Eric Green when he played for Liberty and was coached by Sam Ratigliano(sp?). He was a man among boys out there.
