Then that tall, skinny Fr QB came in, and didn't do a damn thing...until the last possession, where he got UD close enough to kick the game winning FG as time expired.

That kind of "close, but no cigar" ending seemed to happen alot that season. 03-banghead

Argh. I remember that game. MM sat on his time outs while UD was already well within FG range, letting UD run the clock down to zero. We could have (should have) had a couple minutes on the clock after the FG. Terrible clock management.

That was my freshman year. After the Tech win, the season was just composed of games like this. Delaware and Richmond come to mind. Was it the New Hampshire game or UMASS game that we led by 14 at halftime and ended up losing by 14? It was whichever game was the pinkout game.

Mickey & Lefty had that in common. Never seemed to know how to use time outs strategically.

Ed caught a pass from Dan Marino on MNF in 2000. Ed had one of the longest careers of any Duke in the NFL (1997-2006ish) as a TE, H-back and long snapper.

I played with next to Ed for a year before being moved back to guard. Ed is a great guy and a hell of a barber. Although, he never could get Marino in the chair.

DJ Bryant knocked Devlin out on a read option. UD fans still ***** that it was a dirty hit, despite clear video evidence showing otherwise.

Marc Mariani (on that Montana team) is in the NFL in Tennessee, right?

Yes, Mariana is a kick returner for the Titans.

David Ball (UNH) is on the Eagles roster, mainly due to Chip Kelly, who has coached as an UNH assistant at BFS.
