16 seed will probably be ODU. Blaine Taylor left a mess of a roster that should take years to recover from.

I (don't) have a problem with that. It seems to (push) punish academic integrity and (doesn't) look(s) the other way with what are becoming athletic diploma mills. Just (don't) pass them all "the Carolina way" and then (don't) be holier than thou and self-righteous about your phony graduation rate:

I really don't think MemTGRS meant to say that f_us are diploma mills!

And I corrected his post for him.

No, I did not. I was 100% defending FIU. And I apologize to any/all Panthers' fans if my text confused in that direction.

I was targeting UNC[color=#87CEFA] on that. I have a problem that FIU is excluded because they did NOT simply pass players, unlilke North Carolina. And UNC will probably still emerge with this grand reputation and commence pointing fingers at everybody else.

I fully understood you post, backrow's edits were a little confusing. No harm, no foul. 04-cheers

nope odu for the 16 seed. Well get it alone. And well argue that point. Blaine left us a mess. We won't be back to fighting on the court for at least three years. He did a number on the program. Jj let's see how he does and if he does. Bright light our assistants. The only way we get to the tournament is if we host it.

So far removed from the butler game...woke up and the lights haven't come back on yet.

i'm not a fan of all 16... and I'm not a fan of the double bye either. A top ranked team could lose a lot of momentum, or a lower ranked team could get hot way too quickly.

but the problem is you reward teams that might not deserve it as bad as these divisions have been since we went to the division format. Teams out west were getting to play 330 ranked Rice twice and multiple 200+ teams while in the east teams got top 30 Memphis and USM twice. Skewed up crap. Nothings ever apples to oranges in these conference anymore and some team that may have been better might have played in the tougher division and not eve make it to the tourny at 12 teams.

Wait? CUSA doesn't have divisions in basketball.

Quote:Originally, the Conference USA basketball tournaments were going to have the top 12 of 16 teams in the tournament, but now it looks like all 16 will participate.

1 - Having all 16 teams for men's and women's basketball participate in the C-USA Basketball Championship, making it a five-day format.
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/...sprin.html

Today's UAB press release announcing the 2013-14 conference schedule states:

Quote:The upcoming C-USA schedule culminates with the 2014 Conference USA Tournament, which will be played in El Paso, Texas on March 12-15. The top 12 teams in the league will receive a bid to this year's tournament, with the top four earning a first-round bye.

http://www.uabsports.com/sports/m-baskbl...13aaa.html

So, the question is 12 or 16? If 12, why the reversal of the May announcement?

Can't be 16 teams as CUSA only has 14 teams.

T4 Bye

A-10 used 12 out of 16 last year and it made for a very interesting February at the bottom of the standings.

Speak for your team,......unlike Marshall ECU finished top four in Cusa Standing and made the Cusa Tournament (MU did not), ECU has three starters returning next season, past season won 32 teams Tournament Championship, 20+ wins last season, and new $1.8 million addition to our basketball complex. ECU is well on its way in basketball and will be a pre-season pick for NIT selection if not NCAA bid. But our biggest plus for next season will be the return of Coach Lebo and Staff.

So does that mean that the T8 get a bye? Or no byes @ 16?

I think it's fairly safe to say that nobody on this board cares what you assume.

Not completely decided but they have mentioned using the east/west divisions for basketball and going to a 19 game C-USA schedule (12 inter-division and 7 cross-over)
