RE: CUSA officials visited JMU?
Banowsky was asked about a league visit to Football Championship Series (FCS) member James Madison, but would not confirm or deny.

"We're in evaluation/analysis mode," Banowsky said, before a long pause. "And proactive. You really have to be."

Banowsky said he felt like things have "stabilized significantly over the last two months, really," citing his feeling that the top conferences are shored up. He did feel there could be movement "below us in the system," perhaps with FCS schools wanting to move up to the FBS.

If Banowsky visited Harrisonburg, I hope he enjoyed the smell of dead poultry and truck diesel engines. Amazing what a highway rest stop can turn into over time.

As someone who drives up and down I-81 from NC to NY monthly, Harrisonburg is in the middle of nowhere, but JMU's campus is quite the oasis in northwest Virginia where there is NOTHING else! Their renovated/expanded stadium looks great -- and driving by during a game is an amazing view that makes you want to pullover and watch!

There's no way member presidents or AD's approve expansion to 16 and with the ACC schools signing a GOR, realignment should be quite for a while. Only way I see JMU in FBS is if they swallow their pride and take the final available spot in the Sunbelt.

RE: CUSA officials visited JMU?
There are multiple FCS schools with the aspirations of moving up for various reasons. Had UT-C had an athletic director in place when the Sun Belt called them a few months back, they'd probably be moving.
Things will be in a holding pattern until the power conferences decide what they want to do with football. I'll be shocked if the other four doesn't strongly encourage the Big XII-2 to truly become the Big XII again, if not expanding to 14. It wouldn't be shocking at all if the Pac-12 went up to 14 as well, then it all hits again. Don't be surprised at that point if you see 4-6 more FCS teams, public, regional universities move up.

The mwc would be smart in taking UTEP and Ootsa (despite being somewhat newbies). If they wait on b.y.u. it might never happen. Rumors in the mwc board are that as soon/if byu is invited that they'll invite UTEP.

Stan the Man insisted that we're headed there in 2014 or was that 2015? Maybe after we get all our dough.
