RE: Bengals working with UC for games at PBS next season
I really don't think WVU and Louisville brought many people. I was at both and was surprised at how few I saw. Ohio State and Oklahoma were a different story.
I still agree the opponent matters though. UC fans are more likely to go with a marquee opponent as well.

We shouldn't have to rely on a wvu or a uofl to bring fans. osu did bring alot of fans, however OK did not. They sold out their allotment and had a few more, however the vast majority were UC fans.

Next year would be a really good year to get another "home" game like they had w/ VT this past season.

WVU and Ville did not have many fans at PBS. More WVU fans than Ville fans though.

I sat next to the Oklahoma fans that game. There really werent a lot of them, pretty average attendance actually. They were fun to mess with evey time we made a come back or Pead shredded their defense.

Would have been even more fun if the 'Cats had won. In many ways that was another one of those "woulda, coulda, shoulda" games and would have been an impressive scalp for UC. I think that's the only place where UC has fallen short during this great run the past decade--taking down a heralded opponent with a national following and championship tradition.
Let's hope they're saving that for the Horseshoe next season. What a great gift that would be for our alum Urban from Tommy T and company.

Virginia Tech was closest thing to a brand name win;however, they were pretty bad for their standards last season. Wins over Louisville, Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, Rutgers, Oregon State, NC State, Hawaii, and Vandy are nice but not top tier.

No it wouldn't. None of these teams:
8-30 Stony Brook
9-13 Toledo
9-20 Miami OH
are going to pay $3 million to bring the game into their houses. Now, if we move the game to Oxford, and they come to Cincy in 2015 and 2016, maybe we can discuss that.
