I keep reading things, some from App. St. people and some from Ga. Southern people, that it is a matter of time before JMU joins the SunBelt. I would certainly support that happening.

GASOEAGLE, there has been lot's of talk, just not from anyone who has any say in the situation. We are a frustrated bunch at the moment. SB is mentioned at lot as a FB only preference, but most on here seem to want C-USA or MAC as an all sports deal. Again, this is just us the fan base talking.

Well the other one has gotten pretty damned boring to be honest.

I guess when he saw almost 2500 posts on the conference thread, he said no way in hxll to read all of that.

I have to admit I did not read the other thread with over 2000 posts.

I understand the "not knowing what the decision makers are thinking" thing. Under our former AD there was not much communication with the fanbase and basically no one knew what our plans were if we had any. When we got a new AD in December of last year all that changed. The new AD with the full backing and support of our president basically announced we were doing everything we could to get to FBS and even said long before the invite came that we wanted to be in the SunBelt.

I am hoping JMU will join the SunBelt as I see you guys as the best 12th team we could get.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I don't feel like we want to move all sports to SBC, but football has become a much more attractive option with the addition of real GSU & App. St.

Yep. Why would they visit if there wasn't some interest. Also, did they come at night just like at odu?

Good luck to you guys. I understand CUSA would be preferable to you because of the greater proximity to some of the teams you guys would like to play.

Honesty though I don't really see any advantage in CUSA expanding to 16, but we will see.

The SBC seems intent on adding a 12th football playing school by June 1 of next year. Hopefully it is you guys.

I'm a little biased as I grew up in Savannah going to Statesboro for games, half my family went to GSU, and I would LOVE to play them yearly. Our fanbases are very similar, and GSU people know how to tailgate. Also would love to continue playing App. The rest of the SB I can't even name but I'd be stoked for those two games every year.

You can have the best of both worlds if this plays out the way the DNR is claiming. What if we end up in CUSA and we schedule GSU and ASU as 2 of our OOC games? We through in a big boy FBS that pays us $1,000,000 plus and an FCS former rival (W&M, UR, UNH, etc.) and we have a nice home and away schedule year in and year out.
