JMU Could Learn a Lot from this Univ of Ark Article
I was flying to a nice location recently and I read a very good article on what the Univ of Ark is doing to attract top students and faculty. I'm sure some will read this and make a comment that JMU can't achieve what Arkansas has achieved because we don't have a donor willing to contribute $300,000,000 as part of a 1,000,000,000 campaign. I don't disagree but that should not stop JMU from doing something on a smaller fund raising scale. The article does a nice job blending academics and athletics. I plan to send this articles to people I know in JMU's admin. There are many things on the table and some really good things coming out in the near future. I can't comment beyond what I have posted but I think quite a number of folks will be pleased.

Go to page 84 of the magazine.

Working that side now. Here's another link to the athletic discussion.

I was flying to decent location (Memphis) and read the same magazine. Oddly I flipped past most of the Arkansas articles and read about North Carolina. There was an article on ASU and I got a little smile on my face remembering Landers and McGee's leading a 21-0 halftime comeback.
