I was wondering. I still can't place them in my mind. I suppose I'll pass by campus and see where the hole is.

To see the "hole", stand in the Shorlings' parking lot and look to the east or in the parking lot behind what used to be Ace Drugstore and look to the south.

Ah! Yes, those needed to go for more than visual or being out-dated reasons.
Hopefully they can turn the area into a revenue generating operation, something that serves the surrounding neighborhoods and the on campus community equally, to help the University be the center of a living community again. Either that or more "adult" student housing, something to attract a more mature environment that close to main campus. Hopefully anything bar/late night related is off the table because they just don't need drunken students walking across campus to the dorms.

Why not? Better than having them driving across campus...besides the Brass Bell served a great function in its hey-day...Bring back the Brass Bell, Bennie's East and West, the Agora, Charlies Blind Pig, Beer Stube, O-T, Roman Gardens, The In and Out Mart, LOL...surprised I can remember having been a supporter of all of the above and then some...Go Rockets!!

also the Tabard.
I use to have a few pitchers of Miller $1.95 or Buckeye $1.65 with a Lum's dinner prior to heading to some of those aforementioned establishments.

I believe that is the original site of the baseball field. If we want to bring baseball back to the main campus, that would be a good spot.

After talking to many professors, I believe it is going to be flattened, paved, and used for my parking. Although it's nothing special, it is much, much needed!!

Parking isn't really an issue. There is plenty of parking with the 2 parking garages, Rocket Hall parking, and parking by the rec. It's just that no one wants to walk.

The original baseball field was between the current Performing Arts Center and Bowman-Oddy Labs. The outfield was where the Law Center is today.
The first track was directly south of the Field House, which is now an open grassy area.

Occasionally I might have to drive around a bit but generally I'd agree with there being plenty of parking near the main quad, particularly with the downsizing. Very unlikely it will be student parking and there seems to be plenty of employee spots. Making THIS lot parking might provide alternative when construction closes other lots or maybe it's a least expensive development until more profitable or useful options are found?
Maybe the better option until a developer is found would be to turn it into green space but I have to imagine there is political pressure to do what MBG says, provide door to door parking for those who get in at 9:05.

Anyone have any more pictures to post? I also understand that the old print shop by the engineering building is being torn down?
