If an 18 yr old can join the military, and go to war to fulfill his commitment..... An 18 year old held to a LOI, should not be an unreasonable commitment to be held to.

I don't blame the NCAA for it's decision. They had to do what they had to do.


I feel sorry for the Hamilton family however. I think what Tim Floyd did was vindictive. Here they thought they had a life long friend in Floyd and he turns around and stabs them in the back.

Floyd gains nothing from this.

-USC backed off
-Isaac landed in UCLA's lap

Before you say something stupid and inaccurate, if USC was not in the mix, why did they have a press conference to announce they no longer had interest in adding Isaac to the team?

Tim Floyd, UTEP, and El Paso were the victims. There are rules in place. Tim Floyd did not break any. Isaac Hamilton did. What Daddy Hamilton ultimately did was vindictive. Grandma Hamilton will still not see Isaac play. They also just delayed Isaac's first payday by a year. Just follow the rules. That is all Team Hamilton had to do. Isaac wasn't drafted to the UTEP Miners. He voluntarily signed a letter of intent. He chose us.

I have no doubt you are just trying to stir the hornets nest with that comment but that is ridiculous even by your standards. Team Hamilton stabbed Tim Floyd, UTEP, and El Paso is the back. A better way of putting this is that Tim Floyd gains nothing by not rolling over and giving Team Hamilton what they wanted. I am glad Tim Floyd didn't roll over for Team Hamilton. There are rules in place. There is not reason they shouldn't apply to Team Hamilton.

You have no evidence whatsoever that Coach Tim Floyd did anything wrong at USC but that hasn't stopped you from claiming he was guilty of violations and other non-ethical actions. So that is a glaring contradiction.

1. How is the family is suffering? Their son is getting a free education. 2. It's difficult to call voluntarily committing to a school "a mistake." 3. At 18 years old, Isaac is hardly a boy. I agree. I wish all the adults did the right thing. I wish Isaac would have honored his binding commitment. I wish Daddy Hamilton would have taught Isaac to be a better man. The Hamiltons, UTEP, and El Paso would be far better off if everyone, all parties involved, had followed the rules. Maybe someone at UCLA can inform Isaac, that at 18 years old, he is not a boy and doesn't need his daddy to tell him what to do.

This could have set precedence, and opened up a floodgate, for all non-P5 schools. But since you're an Aggie PAC12 fan, you won't see it, and will never be able to comprehend it. This is not just about UTEP. BTW- There are even teachers who are scum bags, let's not cast stones.

And for the record, since this is a UTEP fan board- If you choose to keep referring to the focal point of UTEP/program/coaches, in a derogatory manner, you will be permanently banned. This will be considered a statement to incite/flaming.

I have nothing put respect for what Hamilton did for his grandmother. He made a mistake by signing with UTEP. He would have compounded that mistake by coming anyway. It would not have been good for him or the school.

Floyd didn't hold Hamilton accountable for any other reason than to attempt to bully him into coming to UTEP anyway.
