3. You thinking that the professor stomped on "Jesus drawings' proves how little information you know on the story. The class is called "Intercultural Communication" in which students study how important certain symbols or words can be to a culture. The lesson, which has been done by countless amounts of professors at other universities as it is part of a widely used textbook, was for students to write the word "Jesus" on a piece of paper, and see if they could stomp on it or not. The activity is supposed to show that certain words hold special meanings to certain groups of people (like the word Islam to the Middle East for example). No student was forced to step on the word, and no student was suspended for not stomping on it. A student was kicked out of the class for threatening physical violence on the professor for doing the activity. The right winged media picked it up (And I'm a Republican mind you, who worked for the Romney campaign) picked up half the story and ran with it. All students of his class (except for the student that objected, who the other students found "disruptive and inappropriate") signed a petition stating that they were not offended by the activity, as they obviously understood it's meaning. If you would actually like to educate yourself, here's a very onjective and "anti-FAU" blog that puts common sense back into the conversation.

4. While the professor is a nut job, he is protected by tenure. You can stand with me and take that issue with the state, who is really to blame for this issue. The university has said countless amount of times that they do not share the opinions with that professor.
5. The company you speak of is Geo Group. While they've donated money to the athletics department in the past, our former president thought it was a good idea to put their name on the stadium. This move caused her resignation as university president, and we are currently looking for a new one. While this wasn't a pretty situation, at least we have taken responsibility for our actions and have held the admin accountable by cleaning house. But to belittle FAU for taking donations from a private prison company as if nobody else takes donations from controversial companies is pretty sad.
But you're right, you are missing others, such as the most diverse student body in the state of Florida, the current Miss Florida, the pioneers of undergrad ocean engineering, and a top ten MBA sports management program in the world. But you're right, only the minor things get attention when your university is under the microscope, like all of the events that you listed above. Sadly, the media will push all the good aside for minuscule stories that they'll hijack.
Btw, if you actually read that article as to why 'FAU is America's worst university" then you should know how much of a joke it is.
