OT: MLB All-Star game
I'll start this off by saying that I am not a huge baseball fan...even less of an MLB fan.

I watched about 4 innings of this game last night. I had to turn because I got bored. Is this what the MLB all-star game is like most years? When I think of an all-star game, I think scoring..not a 3-0 shutout.

I've heard the All-Star game being hyped as the MLB's "Superbowl"...It just seemed like another slow, boring, regular season game. I want some excitement, some homeruns! Scores for this game should be in the teens almost every year, IMO.

I think the Players/managers/commissioner have to realize that an all-star game is meant to be entertaining. NBA/NFL/NHL players all understand this and adjust their play accordingly. They don't defend as hard as they would in a normal game, they try to score more. I think people enjoy seeing the hits.

I'm not asking for it to become a blooper reel where overthrown baseballs are flying everywhere, constantly being dropped, etc.

If I was in charge, I'd make the pitchers to take a little off their pitches, have the fielders take a little off their throws to get guys out. Let these guys have some fun, then they can turn "it" on in the final couple of innings.

If you could change the All-Star Game...how would you do it?

The game is dominated by pitchers now a days. I don't like the game decides home field for the World Series. Sounds like you were a big fan of the steroid era.

Well, you can thank Bud Selig for this, he had the idiocy to let an All-Star game end in a tie. Ever since then he came up with the brilliant idea of having the winning team have home field advantage in the World Series. Ever since then, the game has become harder fought than it should ever be.

I thought this All Star game was better than most years. If you have a manager that takes it seriously like Jim Leyland, you get a game that is actually managed and not just a run out every team's players so they can get an AB or throw an inning. The players seem like they take it more seriously now, why else would you see Prince Fielder leg out a triple with a 2-0 lead when he could have easily settled for a double. I really wish baseball would see a national interest again like in the 60's and 70's but it just doesn't vibe with our ADD American society anymore.

I love the All-Star game, by far the best out of all the major sports. I love that it actually means something, unlike the rest. Seems like the players care about it a lot, which is not something you really see with the others.

Maybe you should just watch the Home Run Derby?

Oh okay...So I guess i shouldn't want the NBA stars to dunk or shoot 3 pointers in their all-star game since there is already a 3pt and a Dunk contest??

I want to see hits. I want to see scoring. I don't want it to become a homerun derby, but I think they certainly should accentuate the more exciting parts of the game of baseball.

I love a good pitchers dual...the mental game between the hitter and batter is one of the most intriguing parts of baseball to me.
