You're phucking insane if you think Memphis, Connecticut, and Cincinnati are over New Mexico, UNLV, and Colorado State by A LOT. Boise State over East Carolina but too weak to matter? Boise State makes the NCAA Tournament but gets a tough break in La Salle while East Carolina wins the CIT and their toughest opponent is Weber State. Air Force almost beat Final Four team Wichita State last year, I think they could handle UCF. Fresno State will be a good team next year, they would beat Houston. Wyoming was ranked before conference play and lost their leading scorer to a bar fight, they win over Tulane. You're argument is very east coast biased. MWC > AAC.

Your argument consists of dropping names like La Salle and pretending like it's the 1950's. Total La Salle NCAA appearances in the last 20 years: 1. Losing to La Salle doesn't exactly happen because of a tough break. Teams lose to Indiana because of tough breaks. Teams lose to La Salle because they aren't any good. La Salle isn't even the best team in their own city.

BSU has made the NCAA three times in the last 20 years (and once was 20 years ago). UCONN has more national championships in the last fifteen years than BSU has tourney appearances. Sure, BSU might be better than ECU, but so what? They're also probably better than most high school teams, but that doesn't mean that they're any good. I'll give you BSU>ECU, but neither school even begins to matter in basketball.

I'm not sure Air Force could handle anyone. They've gone to the NCAA dance 4 times: 1960, 1962, 2004, and 2006. UCF has gone to the dance 4 time: 1994, 1996, 2004, and 2005. Are you really telling me that Air Force is clearly better than UCF? Neither team is great, but UCF has had twice the tourney appearances in the last 20 years. One good game against a team that got hot in March isn't enough claim anything.

You realize that Wyoming didn't even make the dance last year, right? Wyoming went 20-14 in 34 games against jack nobody. Let's stop pretending like they're some super power. Honestly the last time Wyoming was good was 1952, and the last time that they were really good was 1943. They haven't even made the tourney in a decade. They may very well be better than Tulane, but that doesn't make them relevant. The second worst football school in America is better than the worst, but I doubt that their conference is hanging their hat on anything. Memphis has gone to more NC games in the last decade than Wyoming has played NCAA tourney games. That's how much the Tulane-Wyoming comparison doesn't matter.

Fresno state Has never mattered. They have 1 sweet 16, and they haven't made the NCAA dance in over a decade. At least Houston has made the tourney in the last 10 years and was relevant in the mid 80's.

I'm not east coast biased. I'm just objective. Your the one claiming that UNLV > UCONN. Name one single objective criteria where UNLV beats UCONN. Name one. The only one that I can think of might be winning percentage, but that's because where UCONN plays the best teams in the nation, like Syracuse, Georgetown, and Louisville, UNLV plays SDSU, Colorado State, and New Mexico, and none of those teams have ever mattered.

In my first post I was determining who was better by last years team. UConn lost to MWC champion New Mexico and overrated NC State. They also took Quinnipiac to 2OT before squeaking out a win. UConn does have a better history than UNLV, but last year UNLV > UConn.

My bad. I should have caught that. I thought that you meant in the abstract. Though I still think that the AAC is a better conference, your posts make a lot more sense. This one is on me.

I'm not sure if anyone in America (outside of Nevada) thinks that UCONN and UNLV belong on the same court. The same goes for New Mexico and Colorado State. When's the last time that any of those schools did anything. Memphis made the NC game in '08 (plus or minus a year)

UNLV would play a very competitive game against UConn at home, away, or on a neutral court. The only reason Memphis made the NC game in '08 is because Derrick Rose let someone take his SAT for him.

The only way that UNLV doesn't get crushed by half time is if Ollie ends up being a one year wonder and completely bombs out as a coach.

UNLV made the sweet 16 in '07. Other than that, UNLV hasn't done anything significant in the tourney in over 20 years.

while i agree that uconn > unlv. you cant downplay unlv as a bb school. they have had good recruiting classes and 7 tourny bids in the last 8 years and just had the #1 overall nba pick. not exactly a bad program

Oh, I don't want to tear UNLV down too much. I'll take UNLV over almost all of the Pac-12 and much of the SEC (obviously not UF or UK). I was erroneously under the impression that he was asserting that UNLV > UCONN in general, as opposed to a specific year. It's hard to tell how good UCONN was last year because the team was unmotivated (sanction) and breaking in a new coach, so I can see room for debate. However, going off of the last 20 years, UCONN is objectively better than UNLV. I thought that he was disputing that facts. That's why I may have come off as harsh. I was holding UNLV to a very high standard (UCONN's). However, I was in the wrong in that I misunderstood his posts.

Hey no problem. I was kind of confused when you were bringing up past NCAA Tournaments but then I realized you thought I meant by history rather than last year. I think the AAC and MWC are pretty much equals, but the MWC is a little bit better. Good luck to your Orange in the ACC as well. The ACC is my second favorite conference to watch after the MWC, obviously.

Big Ten is overrated. One good year and they're suddenly dominant? Have they won a title since MSU?
