The first money received from Geno should go to Jim Fleming. KSU illegally terminated his contract. He has won a court judgement against KSU 10/29/2012. If you want to condemn Geno for what he did, then the same venom needs to be directed at Lefton and Neilsen for their breach of Fleming's contract. Amount due Fleming is $97,619.91.

I don't have any disagreement that we should pay Coach Fleming. He won his claim. How do you know that we haven't paid him?

Personally, I can't get as worked up over an assistant Coach Martin took in after he left Akron ( not renewed after J.D. was fired?), who was not renewed again after Martin resigned. When head coaches go, often assistants go. can't get as excited as a HC leaving.

My point is that many posters on this board think that KSU has clean hands when dealing with exiting coaches. The attitude seems to be "Geno is dirt because he violated his contract". I am just using the same logic to say "KSU is dirt for violating the Fleming contract."

Since the court finding in favor of Fleming, KSU has tried to argue that Fleming eventually mitigated the damages by eventually getting a higher paying job at UCF. Most recent filing by Fleming's attorney was last week. Following is a link to the entire court case. The entry on 10/29/2012 is the judgement entry after the trial. If you like peering into the current and past contracts of KSU coaches, check out documents 3 & 4 dated 7/12/2013. They contain every coaches contract going back to Gary Waters in 2000. Geno's contract was also entered into evidence in the Fleming trial.

Something tells me that you'd find a way to think KSU Athletics and KSU is dirt anyway. I think if a court found we violated Fleming's contract, we should pay him. If a court finds GF violated his contract with us, he should pay us. Have you read anyone who has disagreed?

Geno has something in common with Lebron. No one is upset he left. It is how he left that upsets people. He slipped out much the same way the Colts left Baltimore. In the middle of the night.

No....Just found it interesting that no one has publicly stated their displeasure that the university they support doesn't pay up when they harmed a former coach. I also think Geno should pay KSU in full immediately. Not sure on the KSU suit for interference against Bradley. I haven't seen KSU's evidence presented because that trial has not started. If Bradley is found at fault, they should also pay KSU. KSU just needs to own up to the mistake, show some class, and pay the money owed to Fleming.

Maybe not over, but certainly closer. Court rules in KSU's favor on Bradley's interference with Geno's contract. October trial is only on damages.Summary Judgement: Bradley Interfered

RE: Geno loses. KSU awarded $1.2m
I have no other knowledge of this other than what is available to everyone. But reading this article, I have two guesses about what happened:

1. We could prove that Bradley interfered, but could not proved it harmed us. That means we would have gone to trial and received nothing. When it's this close to trial, could have been that a few pre trial motions (rulings) went against us and the outcome became clear.

OR

2. We settled.

Either way, it seems to me that the quote from the Bradley attorney is incorrect. It is not like the case was ever filed. The ruling that Bradley interfered is still case law in Ohio. It serves as one road map to prove contract interference, and there are situations where harm is evident. (Examples are had to spend resources on a new coach search, lost recruits, had a bad year the following year, attendance fell, etc.) I remember reading opinions that we can't prove interference. We did. We can't prove our program was harmed when Geno fled.

I guess this makes it easier to proceed on collection efforts with Coach Ford, as he indicated that the Bradley suit had to be settled first. So he either has to appeal or pay.

Oh geez - Bradley took a trip to the Bahamas too - and lost one of their games! I figured they were just teams like the Washington Gemerals

Bradley seems improved even though they are ranked 171st in D-1 with a 5-2 record and a strength of schedule rating of 342. KSU is ranked 93rd standing at 7-1 with a SOS rating of 243.

From the category of "it could always be worse" - Geno and his crew lost last night in their conference tourney to finish 12-20. Think about how pissed those fans must be to be paying him an ass-load of money to lose 20 games every year! There record in his 3 years there is 37-62.

No you don't want Geno to come back. You can never trust a Bobcat! Next time, let's don't make the same mistake. All coaches attempt to take advantage of their situation but with Geno at KSU, that's all it was about, play and simple...Screw him
