hey guys this is my first thred/post. this is how i think college football should have expanded. i think there should be no divisions so you would get the top 2 teams every year, even though you might get an 6-6 team you would still get the top 2 team.
what do you guys think.
This is how I see it:
SEC
Georgia
Alabama
Florida
Auburn
Vandy
Kentucky
LSU
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Mizzou
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Tennessee
Ole Miss
(Texas was being a pain in the rear; that's why TAMU & Mizzou left, and both really wanted to join the SEC. Win-win.)
Big Ten
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue
Rutgers
Wisconsin
(Maryland never really fit in the ACC, and I like Rutgers in the Big Ten)
ACC
Boston College
Clemson
Duke
Florida State
Georgia Tech
Miami
North Carolina
NC State
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Virginia Tech
Virginia
UConn
Wake Forest
(Slight deviation from what the ACC actually did. I think UConn would have fit the ACC mold better than Louisville)
Big 12
Baylor
Iowa State
Kansas State
Kansas
Louisville
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas Tech
Texas
West Virginia
(Louisville would have given WVU a good rival, and IMO, Louisville's a better fit for the Big XII than the ACC).
Pac 12
Oregon
Arizona State
Arizona
Colorado
Oregon State
Washington State
Washington
Southern California
Utah
UCLA
California
Stanford
(Pac 12 fine as is, and FYI, I can't stand Cal & Stanford!!!!!)
C-USA
Southern Miss
Marshall
Louisiana Tech
UTEP
North Texas
Rice
UAB
Middle Tennessee
Old Domininion
Charlotte
Western Kentucky
UTSA
FIU
FAU
(looks just fine to me. ECU and Tulane really didn't fit.)
AAC
East Carolina
Cincinnati
Houston
UCF
Tulsa
SMU
USF
Memphis
Tulane
Temple
Northern Illinois
Navy
Villanova
(Still think 'Nova got screwed, plus I think the AAC should have went after a MAC school)
MWC
Air Force
Boise State
Colorado State
Fresno State
Hawaii
Idaho
Nevada
New Mexico
NMSU
SDSU
SJSU
UNLV
Utah State
Wyoming
(since the MWC intended to destroy the WAC's football conference, the honorable thing to have done would be to have given Idaho and New Mexico State a decent home, as the Sunbelt just doesn't work for the Aggies and the Vandals.)
MAC
Akron
Ball State
Bowling Green
Buffalo
CMU
EMU
Kent State
Massachusetts
Miami(Oh)
Ohio
Toledo
WMU
(A NIU departure would have allowed the MAC to be balanced at last, and Bowling Green could have shifted to the West Division where it truly belongs.)
SunBelt
Troy
Arkansas State
Georgia State
Georgia Southern
Appalachian State
Louisiana
ULM
South Alabama
Texas State
(Looks about right)
