Last year it was Notre Dame vs. Navy in Ireland... now Penn State & UCF are signed up to play a game there.

Not to be left out, "Pac-12 eyes regular season games in China" - LINK.

What do you guys think about all of this overseas stuff?

It's a nice novelty thing. But if Syracuse gave away a home game to do it I'm not sure I'd be pleased. I'm already annoyed with the games scheduled at Metlife.

I'm against paying college athletes, but I think it's great that they sometimes get to travel outside the continental U.S.

The BB tourneys in Hawaii and the Caribbean are great (yes, I realize that is not "overseas"). Europe and Asia would be also be ok with me.

China will be an easier sell for basketball and other olympic sports than football, as Scott said.

I could see two Pac-12 teams going over there to play one game against each other and one exhibition each against a Chinese team. Send both the men's and women's teams from each of the schools going. They could do that once a year until each Pac team had played in China.

Any of the leagues closer to the Atlantic could do something similar in Europe.

I wonder why regular-season games (football or hoops) haven't been played in Canada more often. Seems like it would be a good opportunity, unless they've already done some groundwork and figured out the interest would be too low.

Well, the Big XII for the most part has. We used to alternate northern teams. Now each team plays each other.

Seems like a good preemptive strike. With people in the US "cutting the cord" when it comes to cable subscriptions it only makes sense to start drumming up interest in other countries to replace that outlet. Play a few live games there each year now then in a few years pitch to their cable companies to show the conference networks. More viewers, more money, more merchandise sold, more bandwagon fans. Also helps the non revenue sports with international recruits now coming to them.

When was that?

The ACC had teams missing each other prior to expanding to 12.

Florida and Alabama have only played 36 times overall despite being members of the same conference since 1912.
