The Running Back thread
Hey, let's talk about something else for a little bit.
We all know Akeem will be getting the starting spot, but what will the other spots look like? Will Keith Harris automatically be number two on the depth chart or will someone else emerge this summer? Will one of our many true freshman RBs get early playing time and make a difference?
This is what I would think the depth chart will look like come game day:
Akeem Daniels
Keith Harris jr
Georgio Bowers
Cameron Stingley
I obviously think that Deuce Turner was the best looking RB on tape from our incoming freshman and think he would have the best shot at seeing the field, but I don't know if there will be a need for him yet. He is a lot like Akeem, I think, and we already have one of Akeem on the field. A lot of you guys were high on Huff, who I think can be good, but is too raw to make a difference early on.
I expect Keith Harris to be a little more polished this year. The coaches really liked what they saw from him last summer, but he never lived up to the hype. I think this year we finally get the product on the field that they were looking for.
If anyone who isn't Akeem can prove that they can catch the ball and pass block, I think they will get a lot of chances to be in on third down. I love Akeem, but he isn't an every down back.
Anyone know anything about the other RBs on the roster (James Spencer, Alex Morrow, etc...)?

I dont think any of the RBs on the roster is a lock for 15+ carries a game. Akeem Daniels came on strong towards the end of the year last year, he is probably #1. I liked what I saw out of Harris last year as a true freshman in the limited time he played. I hope we can get more production from our RBs this year to take some of the load off Lynch.

I believe this will be the RB depth chart also and the only thing that changes it is Daniels/Harris not being able to take the punishment or possibly one of the freshmen going crazy in camp like Chad Spann did.

RE: The Running Back thread
If one of the freshman really warrants some playing time then great, but with having JL getting the bulk of the carries this year and Akeem and Harris to get the rest, I dont want to waste a year on a freshman who will get garbage time carries only.

Harris made a comment on twitter that I took it as he regrets playing last year due to his inexperience.

I would think (just a guess) that our offense is tough for a true fresh RB to catch on to, WR I could see

If you've ever seen Jordan Huff in person, no doubt he has the size to start this year..although like huskiejohn said, i'm not sure he would be mentally ready along with any of the other freshies..
