Old story talking about potential scheduling alliances either between the Big XII and the ACC or the Big XII and SEC. I have not seen any follow up stories discounting the potential scheduling alliances. Anyone know what's up with these or is this dead in the water? I assume this is not going to happen, but maybe someone has more recent info.

You mean we might actually get to play some SEC teams during our OC schedule instead of the obligatory mid major out west?

the b10-pac 12 alliance died because the pac 12 could commit all of its schools. while the b10 wanted to do 12 vs 12. the pac 12 wanted 8 vs 8 with rotating schools.......and that was the sticking point.

the pac12 has a rarity with utah (the only BCS school with two yearly occ rivalries and a 9 game conference schedule) which is making any alliance scheduling with the pac12 complicated and is part of the reason the holy war is going to skip years. which is huge because in the last 90 years the only time they did that was because of world war II. colorado, already has a yearly ooc rival but is in talks of possibly reviving their AF rivalry which would also give them 2 yearly ooc rivals. plus you have to factor in that stanford & usc have yearly ooc rivals as well. the pac12 sec & acc all have multiple schools with yearly ooc rivals whereas the b12 & b10 only have the iowa schools to worry about plus msu/purdue vs notre dame.

it should be those 2 conferences if anything who do a scheduling alliance. but im not sure the b10 really wants that.

I know it's not SEC but does OU not play FSU pretty often? Not all OOC mid-major games.

Miko it was a follow up to the Champs Bowl announcement between the SEC and Big 12 only initiated by the Big 12 and ACC with the SEC attending. Scheduling alliances were discussed, but I haven't heard any actions coming out of it that are set. The meeting was supposed to be a feeling out process. I don't think anyone felt particularly touched by it.
