And a special call out to Alan Shelby for all that he does with the daily updates. A well-deserved honor.

+1 Way to go Alan. Well deserved. Has PTH gotten this yet? Another deserving candidate.

Go Owls!

I got a nice plaque at the 2012 UCLA game. Tis not so deep as a well, nor wide as a church door, but tis enough, twill serve...

Congrats to all - a very deserving group. It would be great if we could get Cristy McKinney involved with our department again. She did a great job as head coach and with her retired from coaching and her husband passing away, I'm sure the Rice community would welcome her back at any games next year. She was both the head coach and SWA for a time at Rice.

I do have a question about the 2003 baseball team induction. While I think it's a great honor and very deserving, I hope it doesn't preclude any individuals from that team from being inducted into the Hall (I don't think it will as I'm pretty sure we had a track relay team make it with an individual or two who made it into the Hall on their own?).

I've mentioned this before but I continue to be perplexed why certain sports constantly get ignored at these ceremonies. We have some very deserving volleyball and men's basketball athletes (Tricia Bowen, Sammy Waldron, Brent Scott, Michael Harris) who I would have put in personally over some others, but that's just me I guess. Hopefully their time will come in the very near future.

It was great seeing Christy at both games in Raleigh. I told her we missed her at Rice and she replied "there are many things I miss there too".
