I for one am extremely excited about what the Bobcats (soon to be Hornets) did! Drafting Cody Zeller makes a lot more sense now that we landed big Al Jefferson in free agency!

PG - Kemba Walker
SG - Gerald Henderson
SF - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
PF - Cody Zeller
C - Al Jefferson

Ladies and gentlemen... that looks like an NBA roster. Finally.

As a fellow Bobcats/Hornets fan I would've rather MJ drafted Ben McLemore still not sold on Henderson. I still kinda wish we would bring Mullens back for as long as Diop has been taking a roster spot.

The biggest piece in the Boston-Bkn trade may be Marshon Brooks for Boston.

Henderson is going to take the next step this year, I believe. I honestly think our backcourt has been limited in development because we have had ZERO frontcourt help since they've been there. (With the exception of a hobbled Tyson Chandler.)

I think we can be a really good pick and roll team with Zeller & Jefferson on the team now. Clifford wants to utilize MKG more and get him to the rim. Could be a decent year.

BTW, props for being a 'Cats fan down in Blazer territory!

Heard a little rumor that we may be after Monta Ellis in a sign in trade. Sessions, Ty Thomas, and a future protected first for Ellis maybe?

RE: OT: NBA Free Agent Moves
Monta Ellis just fired his agent. The guy opted out of a 12 million dollar contract to test the market, then turned down a 3 year 36 million dollar one and now will probably get half that since teams have spent all their money.

AK 47 just cost himself some bank as well. .

The Nets signed Andrei Kirilenko to a one-year, $3.1 million contract, according to Peter Vescey. Multiple outlets have confirmed the deal and reported it also contains a player option for the 2014-15 season. Kirilenko opted out of a $10.2 million salary for 2013-14 in search of a multiyear deal, but the market for him dried up after the Timberwolves wouldn't agree to sign-and-trades with OKC and the Spurs.

Something tells me that Russian owner might make a payment to his Kirelenko's Russian bank account off the books but if not that's a heck of a lot of money to throw away if not.

Regardless the Nets are stacked.

C Lopez
F Garnett
F Pierce
G J. Johnson
G D. Williams

F Kirelenko
G J. Terry
C Blatche

I think that top 8 is about as good as anyones.

Pretty pumped about the Cavs. Jarret Jack is a great 3rd guard to go with Irving/Waiters. Keon Clark is a good 3/4 off the bench. Bynum is a low risk/high reward move. Only 6 million is guaranteed and they have him for a 2nd year only if he is good.

Irving
Waiters
Anthony Bennett
Varejao
Tristan Thompson
Zeller
Gee
CJ Miles
Jack
Clark
Bynum

2nd rounder Carrick Felix
1st rounder Sergei Karasev

And maybe even Lebron in a year. If he leaves, it will be for Cleveland. He isn't leaving MIami for anyone else. Pretty deep and young team to grow even if Lebron doesn't come.

Why? The team around him would be worse and he isn't going to want to jump from team to team. He is going to stay in Miami and try to rebuild it or he is going to go back to Cleveland to get redemption/finish the job. Any other team besides those 2 would tarnish his legacy

Lebron still lives near Akron and all his family/friends are here. And with all the young talent the Cavs have now, he isn't going to leave Miami for anyone else.

Raptors signed Psycho T, and got rid of Bargnani. That alone makes it a successful offseason, in my opinion.

Woah... I don't think I've ever met a Raptors fan. Would you mind if I ask the origins of your fanhood?

How does one become a fan of a Canadian NBA team?

Bargnani should be a better fit with the Knicks with Chandler as it stand today. With this state not having any pro team (sorry Atlanta or Memphis doesn't do it for me) my Cats fandom come from never having a favorite team I followed certain players growing up so I pick the last expansion team they so happened to get sold to my second favorite player of all time.

I can see where it would feel weird for a UAB fan to root for a winner... 04-cheers

Its been a rough couple of years ,but I think things are headed in the right direction with both programs.

Back to NBA talk I think the Rockets are a B. Jennings away from a third seed and is the only piece I see worth adding for a big three. MWP to NYC isn't that big of a deal IMHO. Been watching a lot of NBAtv with men's softball on espn.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said in an email Saturday that Monta Ellis has agreed to a contract. It is reportedly a three-year deal valued between $25 million and $30 million.

Still less than what he could have had but still a good contract considering.

He turned down 3 year 36 million. If I knew I lost 6-11 million dollars over a 3 year period that would seriously bum me out.

Good scorer, but not a winner.

For a guy that averages over 19ppg he is one of the most ineffienct scorers in NBA history. He's a 28 year old, 6-3 skinny shooting guard that I wouldn't have gave him 7 million dollars much less 12. Dallas is desparate and in retrospect they should have paid Tyson Chandler and made a run at a repeat when they could have. It would have been a longshot but would have been worth it over this crap.

The first NBA game I watched was a Raptors game years ago when Vince Carter played for them. Rooted for them ever since.

I'm not a hardcore fan though, I really don't give two ***** about the NBA.

You make him sound like a terrible player. He plays pretty good defense even though he's undersized. He's never really been on a good team with a semblance of a supporting cast. I think he'll be more efficient in DAL if Dirk can still be a legitimate scorer.
