How long does Butler stay relevant, my guess is not very. Xavier is on a down turn and Creighton next year after McDermott leaves will be down. Maybe this new shell of the old BE won't be quite as good as some people expect. Think maybe there were some other programs that were a better long term solution. Dayton,VCU,SLU,etc.

Who does Butler go after? Wichita St. coach Greg Mashall and Gonzaga coach Mark Few come right to mind. Butler now is in a better league and can offer more money and better exposure than either of those two schools.

Marshall is someone that Butler should call.

Few has no reason to leave Gonzaga. He has a well-established program there, they're always at the top of the conference, they're in the NCAAs every year. Going to Butler doesn't improve Few's situation.

Ben Howland is a possibility, and would be a good fit there.

They will probably hire from within, it is too late in the season to poach from another school. I doubt either Marshall or Few would even return Butler's call anyways...

Oh Howland! I forgot about him. Do an interim for this season maybe then hire him? Though I don't think it's too close to the season to hire someone new.

Marshall would probably take a look as he's seeing his chances at his dream job (South Carolina) fading further away as the years tick by. Going from Wichita State in the MVC to Butler in the NBE is certainly a step up.

Making more money and being in a better league would mean they would answer the call. Definitely Marshall. Whats holding him in the now 1 bid MVC?

No need for an interim. Howland is currently unemployed.

...and he's just the tip. People have been saying Coach Wright's days at Villanova are probably numbered. And Philly's still without a coach...

The Big East may have two flops out of the gate...

Umm...reading comprehension? It's Butler and maybe 'Nova being a flop, not Stevens or Wright.

Also, get over yourself...MVC a one-big league? Snob.

AAC guys are so jealous of the NBE and their TV Deal. Even it the league sucked they are still making lots more money than the AAC.
